Internet Filtering;Boy, does it suck!

I just thought I'd brief you on how pathetic our filtering software is at school. I've been allowed access to the Church of Satan's homepage but 5 Christian websites I enjoy are blocked. The software doesn't even try to block Jolly Roger type recipes for drugs and explosives. I could figure out how to make a crystal meth lab for fun and profit and learn how to make enough high explosives to take out the entire east wing of the campus. Its also notoriously lax on porno protection. I know guys who when they have a craving for porn they ype in as many URLs of porn sites that they can think of. At least 60 percent of the time they get access. Also, by accessing the cache it is possible to get access to ANY website in exsistence. I figure that if the software isn't even going to do its job it should be removed to give the computers a little more speed and memory. As a side note, I'd like to mention that the virus "protection" software that our school uses is more dated than the phrase twenty-three skiddoo.

Our school network has implemented LightSpeed Blocking system, to block almost all game sites, and even certain graphics sites, and helpful sites, plus a lot of the "other" sites out there.

I must say it was not helpful during my Web Design class when I was making a LOTR site, and Halo site for my final projects.

My previous high school computer teacher is an airhead, so we could do pretty much what we like... except for downloading porn.. etc..

"Why do you have to quote others when you can quote yourself?" (Quote by me)
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God.
You see things, and you say 'why'. But i dream things that never were and i say 'why not'.

'I've been allowed access to the Church of Satan's homepage but 5 Christian websites I enjoy are blocked.'

Well, Christians are far more dangerous than the Satanists. Common fact.

Some, not all. I know some real scary Christians...I'm not one of them.

'Some, not all'

I was talking about all in the sense that they look to a higher power to decide how to act in certain situations/what to believe. Whereas Satanists only answer to one power, that being themselves.

Probably the main reason they blocked all the game sites etc, for us, was so many kids used to play games when they logged onto the school network, and even though we have a T3 line, with all those users on around the school, the connection wont be as fast as it would be with less people on, etc. So since those games and other downloads, etc., take up a lot of bandwidth when theres a lot of people all at the same time doing that, it just becomes a mess. I just think they went a little too far with how much they blocked.

Anyways, I could care less about the bandwidth issues, I would have rather had certain places unblocked for just downloadinig movies, or trailers, etc, when Im bored in a class and we have computer lab time.
