My friend a person on the forum, is going to do a very stupid thing. Can you reason with him, i've tried my hardest and he is still stubborn please help me.

This is the situation.

My "friend" meets a girl on the internet, now his going to some place called "Abbotville" to meet her. He has never seen her. I've told him to read the newspaper because there is cases like this where a people meet ova the internet and the other side is actually a pedo etc... please reason with him.

Although, yeah ... unfortunately there are a lot of cases out there that are pretty bad. It gives the decent meetings a bad name. Probably why we had so many problems trying to get people to meet us on the OddTour.

Yeah, ya got to be careful with those internet people. I hear so many stories on people getting rapped or killed.....or maybe those are just the only stories I hear on the subject?

Do you ever see anything on the news that says, "Boy meets internet Girl in person and she's not a psycho!"

Anyway, I'll talk him out of it. Just blindfold him and give me ten minutes with him. *cracks knuckles*

But seriously, if you REALLY want to go, there are a few things to do first.

1) Call them. This is almost a sure way of finding out who they are. If they refuse the call, then say "f*** off pedaphile" and leave. If they do allow you to call, then confirm the following:

- They are of the desired sex (unless he/she is a transexual in which case I can't help you since they can sound like a woman but be a man)

- Listen to the voice carefully and confirm a rough age. Usually, you should be able to tell the difference between an adult/teen/child.

If they give you a false number, tell them to f*** off and leave.

2) When you make arrangements for a meeting, make sure it is a very public place. If it is not, then forget about it and go to the fair or something to find true love.

3) If you make the final decision to go, try to get someone to go with you if you are not completely sure...

OR Carry a weapon (though this may not be possible if going overseas)

In short I'll just say, try to find true love by going OUT of the house first before resorting to the shady world of internet dating over MSN chatrooms.

Anywho, I talked to her on zee phone before I actually met her in person, so I knew she wasn't crazy. Plus her mummy called and talked to my Dad and all that blah blah, so I was safe.

Okay, just hassle the hell out of him. Tell him he's sad for having to meet someone on the internet, and if he still wants to go, say you give up, and give him some vasoline, and tell him he'll need it if the meeting goes bad.

We became really good friends until one of my aquantences told her that I said she was my girlfriend. For some reason that pissed her off and we don't talk anymore. I'm okay.

A realistic looking BB Gun would be a quick fix if he really insists on going.

Ultimately, if he gets there and see's some geeky looking guy instead of some girl I think he'll get the message on what is actually going on...

Aww, Im sorry man. I dont really like when people say stuff like that and it gets you in trouble with your good friends that are girls. Especially, when they say stuff that oh "he" or "she" thinks your more than just friends. It can get pretty tiresome and annoying after a while.

It was such long time ago......I'm sooo over it. I was really annoyed at the time though. And the jerk who told her what I supposedly said was someone I barely knew.......he was less than an aquantence becuase I didn't even know the dude's name. I mentally remembered his as "dead eyes child," because his eyes were cloudy and weird......he looked like he was a zombie.

Stateside a serial killer that I can't remember the name of used it to abduct, sexually torture, and then killed dozens of people. Do everything you can to stop your buddy, his ass is on the line.
