All Reviews from private screenings, for the press, media, critics, etc. are saying this is the best of the three by far. And that it is the movie to beat this year for the Oscars.

I wanted to go see the marathon, which shows both the FOTR and TTT Extended Editions, and then follows with the midnight opening of ROTK. Problem is I have final exams for term two during that week, so its going to be hard to balance all of those together. So I will probably see it with my friends that Friday.

Grigs Birthday is on the 21st, so that's when I'm seeing it. I can't wait! I am kinda sad that it's going to be over though.

The Academy is commonly know not to award blockbusters or fantasy movies......LOTR is both. I hope the Academy isn't so stubborn and just gives ROTK Best Picture....or at leats give PJ Best Director, he sooo deserves it.

I would go, but I'm working the next day. I'm not as excited about as I was about the Matrix.

LOTR struck me on more of an emotional level. I don't know why, but it just stirs up my heart like no other movie can. 1st Matrix was awesome, 2nd okay and I haven't seen the 3rd yet. For me, LOTR is a better trilogy and I know ROTK will deliver better tham Matrix could ever. I used to have a tough time picking my favorite movie, because I liked so many, but now my choice is very clear. LOTR.

I would have to agree a lot. LOTR has a very large emotional impact on me for some reason. I think its because in the books also people could find meanings in their own lives for things in the book. Tolkien specifically did that so people could come up with their own meanings, and deep down he had his own reasons for writing his books, and stories of Middle earth, but wouldnt ever mention them.

Anyways I could go on about that for a while, and how these films bring a lot of strong emotion, but I wont bore you.

LOTR is definately tied with Star Wars for me, since I first saw the original movies when I was only 2 and 3 years old. But LOTR definately is coming close now to topping that for me.

Though it's a bit unhealthy, I'm a bit excited about it coming out. Hopefully, the Tinseltown near me will have it on their DLP screen, SUPERB picture and sound. Like a giant flat-screen computer moniter. Oh yea... anyways, I'll probably see it the first Saturday morning after its release, mainly because not near as many people are there (thinking finding a parcking spot), it's like 2 bucks cheaper, and it's a godo way to make me get up

Yeah but I missed the first half an hour, because I had a band concert that same night and got home a little later than I expected to be. But I agree that added with the trailer, the commercials, all the reviews(I only read about whether they liked it a lot) is making me very impatient.

I really should look into pre-booking, as I want to go and see the movie in "Gold Class" ... and last year we got stuck with average seating as we hadn't booked in advance.

I havent seen any comercial yet only the advirtisement of the video game which I also want for Christmas. A friend of mine I know at school saw the ABC special and I am so ancious for this movie. Mann why does it have to be Tuesday? I am takeing a girl I know to see it and she is over board about this movie. I showed her the tickets and were like "Keep it safe Keep it secret!" just like Gandolf. We are not Boy friend and Girl friends we are just good friends. She is my neighbor. So we are going to go early get some dinner and then go see the movie. I am looking forward to the evening of the 17th. And the nice thing is I don't have to worry about exams because all my classes are art classes. Except one which is Intro to Business where there will be an exam but thats easy I am passing so I have nothing to worry about.

The commercials alone are very emotionally engaging. They make me just want to see this film sooner and sooner.

I keep missing the tv spots. I'll turn on the tv at the exact moment where it flashes main credits and says, "Rated PG-13. Starts December 17th." This has happened to me about five times!

That used to always happen when The New Star Wars movie was coming out, Id always miss them. Or for other movies I'd go to the bathroom and my brother or something be like you missed an awesome trailer for the Matrix, etc. That can be quite frustrating though.

I know exacty what you mean. Its like you have to be by the television set all day long in order to not miss anything and the min you leave it happens. That happened to me too with movie trailers. Even in game trailers I wanted to see like the Munch trailer and I miss that too when it happened. Lets just hope when Ep3 comes close to its release in the summer of 2005 we don't miss the trailer. I was fortunate to see the trailers of the first two films of the Star Wars Saga. Maybe because I saw them in the movie theaters when I was seeing a movie.

I see movies a lot naturally cause I am breaking into the film and the entertainment idustry as a career. I go for the visual element and the peer entertainment. Its eye candy for me. Nothing beats going to the theater at night by yourself and just relaxing and takeing your mind off of daily stresses. Of any place I like to go by myself it would have to be the movie theater. But its always fun to have people with you too.

I dunno about you but I love previews because there is always something surpriseing comming like this Peter Pan film. Its like whoa Peter Pan heh neat! ya know? And I remember the previews to Episode 1 and 2. As soon as I heard the music and saw the 20th century Fox logo and the black screen I was like "yes!" Especially the Darth Vader breathing for one of the Episode 2 trailers. Its like you can feel the excitement when the preview starts. You get goose bumps when you see some of these previews. Which is associated to your excitement. I love that feeling. I alweys go to the theater early so I don't miss out on the previews.

But the one thing I hate with now is this relitively new advirtiseing products in comercials in theaters now. What is up with that? ya know? Its like I don't want to see a comercial for the army in a movie theater or a comercial for friendship in a movie theater. For me I don't see any kind of point of advirtiseing the army or some shit like that. Not intrested thank you very much sheesh! I want to see strictly previews of up comming films and the movie nothing else. Ya know?

Yeah, I noticed that. I keep seeing movies with those BOD commercials that I've allready seen a million times on TV. I do like those Respect Copyrights spots though, becuase I'm a strong believer in it. I want to be a Director and it would annoy me to death to have people download my movie rather than experiencing it in a movie theater.

See I have some thoughts on the whole copyright thingy. I personally have never downloaded any films off the internet, etc.

But I was given one as a gift from a friend once, and the only reason I had it was because, I had just seen the film like twice in theatres, and couldnt wait to see it again like four to five months later on DVD.

But before you get all mad at me, I did buy in fact the video on DVD when it came out. It was Ep2, and since I have so much SW stuff in my house, I just viewed it in advance because I couldnt wait for it to finally come out.

Anyways the only movie I would ask for again from a friend is LOTR ROTK, being that I will probably see it multiple times in theatres. I will buy the theatrical release, and eventually the Extended Edition on DVD, like the two previous films.

Besides those two cases, I disagree with the whole fact that people mass produce these "bootlegs" and try and make a profit off of it. Mine was atleast free for the one time I was given it. Plus some of these people then never go to see the movie in theatre or buy it when it comes out I think that is the true form of cheating the director, etc.

Oh, dont worry. I'm not mad at you. Plus, you actually bought the movie when it came out, so you're cool. I know people who download the movie and burn it to CD and that's it......A new movie is added to their library and they don't care to buy it when it actually comes out. It's not only stealing, it takes away the movie experience.

Exactly theres tons of kids I know who do that, and not only does it take away the experience, if you dont eventually get the real version it can get annoying watching a movie that would normally be on one disk, instead being on like three or four. I just see it as a resource for me after Ive seen the movie a few times in theatres, and its no longer playing, then adding the few month wait or more to see it again. For the one time thats its happened I got the DVD as soon as it came out. Who knows I might want to do this one more time for ROTK only. I dont think I can wait as I have for FOTR and TTT to come out before seeing it again.

I was in a similar situation ... I only ever bought one pirated VCD, and that was of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. And that was after I had seen it in the theatres 16 times and it went off and I was waiting for it to become available on DVD (which I bought on day of release, and I also have a proper video copy that I got from the US). I had no choice other than to get a pirated version if I wanted to continue watching it.

Likewise if FFVII:Advent Children gets a Japanese release before it's released anywhere else, I'm going to be scouring the net to look for a copy. I'll certainly buy it when it comes out on DVD (and more than once if they have a collectors and a normal one), but I'll be way too impatient to wait if there is a delay.

That's the only time I approve of that kind of thing ... when something is unavailable. Another example is anime episodes ... a lot of stuff isn't released outside of Japan. I have FF:U on subbed video tape before it was ever even heard of getting it an English release. I actually didn't think it would ever get one, so again, had to resort to an illegal copy. And when it's out here next year, I'll be buying every episode again on the officially released DVD. Although there are Anime Clubs that make such available also, but again, it's not the official copy as they aren't available. I really want to join one, but the only one in Melbourne that doesn't have their meetings during work hours is on the other side of the city to me.

Internet downloading isn't bad in such a situation as already outlined ... that is you can't get the movie/series anywhere else. And the majority of the anime fan subbing community has a rule that if the anime gets an English release, they will stop distributing it (of course some people don't too), as they are really just providing the episodes so that people can get access to them. But people making a profit out of it for themselves, that's not really fair. Of course again there are exceptions, like an anime club (which is non profit) may charge a small fee to rent a video tape to help cover costs of tapes, equipment and room hire for screenings.

I don't even bother with burning DVD's with feature films. For one the qulity isn't as good as the actual product. And two I rather wait and build my excitement. Its fun that way the way I look at it. My cousin did that with Episode 1 and it looked horrible. People whome sell these boot leg copies are takeing millions of dollors from the motion picture business and makeing something with awesome qulity and turning them into measily poor qulity films. That alone can easlily result in the los of careers for people whome work or eventually want to be in this field of work like Oddguy and I and a lot of others.

But of course there is nothing wrong with makeing a copy and giveing it to your friends for free and then buying the actual product. That way its not takeing away the business of the industry.

As an illustraitor I have to be careful that nobody steals my work. Copyrighting is the number one thing in this business from the directors to the actors and even the illustraitors and artist where I fall in. We make a liveing of what the rest of the world considers entertainment. This is what our job is, we simply make a liveing off of this. So in finnish, piracy in this is most certainly wrong. But copying the product and destributing to people just for free is ok. It has to be non profit or otherwise its simply stealing business.

Look at it this way. If people keep buying pireted movies or music then eventually the film and entertainment industry will eventually loose profit thus resulting in the closeing of doors of huge industries like 20th Century Fox. which means no more movies. No more music because they don't have the money to do what they want to do. The entertainment industry would wither in that case. But realistically that won't ever happen because the entertainment industry is so big its impossible. There is a saying that says "Hollywood runs the world." And in many ways it sort of does if you think about it.
