Now before Al possibly beats me to it, I need to post an observation. I mentioned up there the Clakkerz' story. Well, nobody's spoken about this on here yet, so I'll assume no one figured it out. The opening paragraph of the Daily Deception Online talks about niche businesses being over run by box stores (for those that don't know, niche businesses are those that target a gap in the market, they almost create a new line of products and tell people they want them - I think the DD Staff would have been better saying 'self-employed business', such as the barberss, the blacksmith's, the carpenter, the tavern owner - you know what shops Westerns are supposed to have; box stores are places that sell the populace products straight from transport boxes. In the UK we call them retail warehouses), and I think that may be the purpose of the Clakkerz: to compain about being driven out of business by larger companies.
Well you beat me to my thoughts on that. But in another way you saved me from trying to explain it in my own words.

Well I must say this months allready looking really up. I have been pleased with the Christmas card, the information on the Site, the Updates, and the return of the daily deception! Plus all of this is good momentum for the forums, and hopefully it continues, into the rest of the month.

Here are my thoughts:

The current chapters in the Quintoligy have hinted signs of a western-based society. Abe's Exoddus is the best example. The train systems, the bone mines (remminescent of gold mines), and the shirrif-style dress of General Drippik all have lead me to believe that Oddworld would be based on the Old West.

The Clakkerz: Why not? When I saw the X Factor during the summer, I broke out laughing. Oddworld has never failed us on the element of comedy, and Clakkerz probably serve that element. So why all the hubub, bub? It's not like they're playable characters or anything. And besides, what did you expect, ostriches? Chickens fit the role perfectly. Barnfolk=Barnfowl.

And I think OW4 will do fine. Remmember the hype from Munch?
It'll be the same. You'll all love it.

Now shaddap an' gimme a dollar for my friggin' speach.

One thing Im wondering about from the recent update. Im not sure when they are going to make this big announcement in 2004. I hope its some time in January, it would be a really cool way to start off the new year. So what's your thoughts before we get some time of official information/date for new information?

Im really excited as to what this big announcement is from OWI.

Yeah, Lorne said exciting news about OW in general would be coming sometime in 2004. What could it be I wonder? Something having to do with an OW movie perhaps?

Dammit Oddguy, you beat me to it.

Yeah, it has to be the movie. It's obviously not about the games, and there have been many hints at a movie for a long time, so what else could it be?

It would be perfect if they release the first movie (abe's story) + the reedition of the 2 first games (also abe's story) on Xbox by Microsoft, like Alf hinted in Dear Alf

that would just be awesome

and why not a box with all Abe (film + 2 games) for Xbox and also a collector edition?

I have to calm down

It's posts like that that get me all excited, that would be truely, truely brilliant. But, maybe it is only news on the next 2 games, we can't know for sure.

I always thought about that. It would say, "The Oddworld Quintology: Part 1," and be filled with interviews of Lorne and the gang with DVD-like features. It would also have art pieces on display, and the first movie as you said, Xav. That is how I always imagined the re-release of the first two games.

Or.....OWI may be coming out with their first artbook! If that was the case, I think I would pass out! Okay, I'm done. I've got to lie down.

Well if it is a movie, I am going to cry (Not Literally). But I will be very excited, and hopefully we will finally get some long awaited merchandise along with an Oddworld Movie.

I agree on something else with some other people too. If it is a movie coming out, hopefully it will be based on Abe's first two adventures. Esepcially since, his story started the Qunitology off, and has further propelled it to where Oddworld is now.

Although I am excited at the possibilty of it being their first movie I don't think that'll be the case. For some reason I got a feeling it'll either be the "Art of Oddworld" book or them moving to their own company building, remember they are ontop of a clothing store.

I thought that maybe OWI would someday expand to a bigger location, but Lorne said the news would be about OW in general, not OWI the company. I'd be disapointed if that was the 'big news' he was talkin' about.

Re-release of the first part of the Quintology
Release of the film of the first part of the quintology
Release of "the Art od Oddworld" first part

sounds like if they do a collector box I will NEED it!

Yay! SligStorm!

As for OWI moving to a larger location - I don't know. Everyone always says how the space they already occupy is a wonderful working environment, yet odd in its own way. I've come to associate the architecture of OWI studios with Oddworld. Although from a business point of view a move may make much sense, I'd feel a bit sad. Not that that should stop them, obviously.

Plus, Ross Dress for Less is legendary.

I think its going to be something we are totally going to be surprised with. Something we missed something very profound and amazeing about Oddworld. A true original piece of interactive entertaiment.

Like Lorne Said Oddworld is far more than Abe and Munch and that they have all kinds of neat tricks up their sleeves. All I have to say is get ready for something big.

Well either way I'll be happy. But I still hope its either the Redition of AO AE + possibly SligStorm, or an Art of Oddworld book. Or the one I hope it is, a movie based on Abes story.
