MO GBA Screens

I don't think anyone has posted this yet, I haven't seen it on this page ... but then again, you guys are all ahead of me lately.

IGN has 24 screens of Munch's Oddysee for GBA. Looks like a cross between the Xbox version and an old Super NES RPG game.

Can Oddworld Adventures and Oddworld Adventures II play on the GBA, does anyone know?

But thanks for finding these, Abe Babe, I'd been wondering how they would present the game on that small screen.

I'VE EXPECTED SOMETHING ELSE WITH THE GBA MODEL
I thought that it would be 2D(It would have been much funnier)

Hmmmmmmmmm...........not bad, but I'm trusting the oddworld games to OWI. I just feel violated that GBA can put a brilliant world onto such a small scale!

I thought Munch's Oddysee would be like a platform game on GBA. It looks quite impressive for what it's on.

I love the link text they give to the screenshots like "Red Traps or something" for the mudokon circles. And "In the Bathroom" 'cos of the fuzzles looking like they're sitting on a toilet seat.

Thanks for finding those pics.

This is all very exciting and fab screen shots. I have one question. Will it be the same story line, levels, chracters in the GBA version in MO?
Max, yes the previouse two oddworld games that were on the GB can be played on the GBA.

Its actually much better than I anticipated. I guess I'll trade in my old GBA, and get GBA sp to play this better.

Am I the only one who actually enjoyed the cheesy oddworld adventure games. I thought they were great on car trips.

Thanks for the heads up Abe Babe I forgot to look recently.

Re: Oddworld Adventures

Al V, I've bought the first oddworld adventures (me's still behind) for gameboy, but I haven't played it... I still love the old GA classic, but I'm living between places so I haven't got it on me. I'm sure I will enjoy it though, I'll start playing it when I get back to my other place. I would love to buy GBA to see how this version of MO is.... but plain and simple I'm broke. Maybe in 3-6 years time, when GBA goes down to £10er!

I don't really know what to think of these screen's. They look great but it looks like some of the level layouts have been changed and prehaps new things have been added (like that weird crystal thingie)? I just might buy a GBA just to play it if somethings have changed or been added.

The next month will be so, very sweet... Al the Vykker, I really liked the 'lame ass' GB ports of Oddworld. And the isometric view of this new Oddworld, is exactly how I imagined!

I'm quoting myself here! I forgot to mention that I never played OW on gameboy, so maybe I'll try it someday and see if I like it.

I did too, I just worded strangely. Yes, the GB ports were cheesy, but they were still oddworld, and a nice treat.

I am looking forward to MO for game boy advance, it seems that thq has done quite well from what the screen shots show.

I'll be buying a Gameboy Advance or maybe a Gameboy SP as they look better for this game and for FF:Tactics Advance.

By the way, the Gameboy version isn't developed by OWI themselves, they licence it out to another developer to do instead. It was the same w/ the Oddworld Adventures games.

That's a Storm Circle, Oddsville. Don't tell me you actually thought one level would be a toilet as well...

Yes, that's THQ, as Al mentioned in his post.

Anyway, since GBA SP seems like it's able to play all the Oddworld GB games, I'm seriously considering investing in one (and the games themselves, obviously).

Well I have to admit that when I first looked at it I saw giant crystals, but now that you've said that it dose look alittle like a Stormcircle. As for the toilet, well I haven't gotten that bad yet.:P

This is how it should go...
THQ is just the publisher.
ART (a Japanese developer) coded the game.
I believe OWI handled the script (not positive on who wrote it).
OWI and Microsoft approves the game.

BTW, it should be out by now. There are no reviews out yet.

Well I wasn't really sure about the Oddworld adventure games on GB and this new one on GBA with Munch. Are they really good for road trips? But I think I will dish out some cash and by the stinken games. We got to eat too you know?"

Ah I love quoting Oddworld.

I was thinking about starting a new topic for this but then I thought it would be better to just talk about it here. The other day I bought MO on the GBA sp. It's a bit easy for the first five levels, at the moment I'm a bit stuck on level six. But anyways, does anybody else here have it. If so tell us what you think.

Well the big difference this game has is that the vendos are call "dispenzahs". The controls are a bit hard to get used to, Munch doesn't fall over when you jump, when you save four or more fuzzles two of them form to make a giant fuzzle (that's quite funny), when you save four or more Mudokons, two of them merge and form a green colour.

Let me quote from the instruction manual.

"Called to a meeting with The Almighty Raisin, Munch and Abe learn of Break Wind Hill, the sacred land of the Mudokon race. Protected by pure wind, the Mudokon race has lived here since ancient times, undisturbed by outsiders.. until recently that is. The pollution caused by the greedy Glukkons recent construction of Evenwurst Weenerz Co. has corrupted the protection of BreakWind Hill, allowing for many of Abes fellow Mudokons to be caputed and put to work as slave laborers. The Almighty Raisin also informs Munch and Abe that the Glukkon stronghold, Fort Glokz, likely funds the factory. The Almighty Raisin orders Munch and Abe to stop the factory and liberate the wealth within Fort Glokz in order to restore peace to the sacred land."
