I'm not certain but I think I've read there is no bonus for saving the minimum amount of mudokons. You just get the bad ending.

Hi, Lantra!

Bullfrog posted something about that in the ezboad forum:
:
In the rulebook for the PSX version, where it talks about Quarma, there's a little passage that says "There is no truth to the rumor that a special bonus awaits players who kill nearly all the Mudokons. No truth at all. What kind of sick people do you think we are? As if we'd put something like that in a game. Not us. No way. Nope."
It sounds somewhat ironic, making us think that there IS an alternative endindg.
Many, many players had already tried to acompplish the task to kill "nearly" all the mudokons in Abe's Oddysee, and Abe's Exoddus, but, it's impossible to kill ALL of them.

Nobody has achieved an special bonus end, other that the well known three ends:
---the bed ending, if you save less then 150 mudokons, no matter how many have died;
---the good ending, if you save 150 mudokons or more;
---and the special bonus end, if you save all the 300 mudokons. This bonus brings a few informations about the next game of the Oddworld quintology, Much's Oddysee(back to 1998, it was big spoilers!!), and some additional productions pictures of Abe's Exoddus.

So, I guess this special bonus for being an evil mud was just a rumor, indeed.
Take a look at the old help forum for more info about the games

I too can remember reading that part of the manual. I kind of thought it was part of OWI's humor... and was them being sarcastic about that kind of thing.

But as Lampion says, it is impossible to kill all of the Mudokons... simply because some doors can only be opened by sending them through a portal (this happens in the very early screens actually... so you wouldn't be able to get far).

I can't say I've tried it but I doubt it very much. That would be too easy and they wouldn't allow that to be done.

Even if you use the cheat code to skip all the levels, but the last one, you will have necessarily to save one mudokon in Abe's Oddysee, and two mudokons in Abe's Exoddus, to get the Srhykull power, which is necessary to finish both games.

It's nothing new, nowadays. There is just a congratulations screen and a few lines telling us about Abe's mother he has to rescue.
Then, comes another screen that says COMMING SOON: MUNCH'S ODDYSEE (with a mudokon voice saying: And don't even think about running that in your miserable 32 bit system!!!).
After that, we see several exclusive production pictures of Abe's Exoddus.

I don't think it's true but
it's very easy to finish the game without saving ANY Mudokons:
U just use the cheat that gets U at any given point in the game,go to the last stage, with the gas and the time, and you finish the game from there.
Unfortunately Abe says "hello" in a very depreesed voice when U kill more mudokons than U saved.

You do NOT need to rescue the last Mud on AO, you just leave him, how could you all be so stupid? You see it's just like rescuing him, but instead of doing it, you don't.

Hello. How's about I bring this topic back from the dead? I was thinking - you could use the 'skip level' cheat to avoid having to rescue Muds, but then you'd probably have to go backwards through the game to kill them, and off the top of my head I'm not sure that's possible during the early parts of AE. As for the two Mudokons you need to rescue to get the Shrykull power in the AE Game Ender, well, you can actually kill them, then temporarily use the invincibility power to get past the screen full of bombs and Flying Sligs. You wouldn't be able to kill the Mudokons on the final screen, though, and there are, what, 3 to 5 of them.

Nobody's said it here, but I'm sure everybody knows that you do not need to rescue the last Mudokon in AO. Just drop down into the Board Room and pull the lever. You get shot dead, but you finish the game. I once played through the Vykkers Suites level in MO without killing any of the Vykkers in the disection chamber - you just run through, keep jumping, and try and try until you reach Munch. When I did it, Abe got killed, but he got close enough to Munch to finish the level, which was vaguely remeniscent, I thought.

Several posts here mention a Mudokon saying: "And don't even think about running that in your miserable 32 bit system," which I find intriguing, as I've never heard that before. Is that PC only, like the information on the Habitales and Fearietales series is?

I have downloaded 2 savegames once. I don't know the site (but I will tell as soon as I found out).

One of them are ALL Mudokons saved (secret ones as well).
The other are all Mudokons killes (except for the very first ones, wich you MUST rescue in order to continue...)

-Rescueing all 300 Mudokons gives you: (nothing special though)
1. The good ending.
2. A message from the Weirdo's (YOU DID IT ABE, and something else wich I don't remember)
3. Extra developer pics.

-However the (ever so tempting) evil side, killing all Mudokons except for about 25 ones gives ya:
1. The bad ending.
2. Two newspaper messages (ABE KILLS ALL WORKER MUDOKONS etc...)
3. Invulnerability and restart at FeeCo Depot.

As I said before, I will name the site as soon as I know it.

UPDATED:

There ya go - not the site I actually downloaded it first, but it has the same savegames.

No, i tried that.
You end up with good karma in AE, cause you need to rescue the two Muds to get skycurl and in AO, you end with one kill and nothing happens!

So can anyone confirm that there is no fourth ending to either Abe games?
