Well; if you initiate a changeover from any one console to another, you're bound to lose a few fanboys in the process. Hell, they lost me for a bit, but I came back again (but I'm still not going to buy a Box until it gets a price drop, and even then I'll probably wait until it has more games I want). But as well as keeping most of the previous fanbase, OWI also gained more fans in the form of Box fanboys. So they may have lost some fans, but they're not going to lose any profits. Plus, they're bound by contract in that their next 5 games must be Box exclusive. And I really don't know what MicroFlump will be entitled to do to them if they try to break that contract.
I do think that, once their contract's expired, they ought to look at other platforms. The Harry Potter game (not that I play it; it looks too much like cash-in) is to be/was? (dunno if it's come out yet) released on Game Boy Colour, Game Boy Advance and PSX (and N64, I think); and since each console has a different level of power, each form of the game is very different (main difference being that the handhelds are getting 2D scrollers; the PSX one is 3D). WipEout also did the same; the Saturn, PSX and N64 versions all had something exclusive that the versions on the other platforms did not. It might be a good idea if OWI do that with a future game; with PC, XBox 2, PS3 and GameCube 2 each getting a totally different experience, with different levels; and possibly a different storyline! You'd be able to play it whichever your favourite console, and if you're a real OW fanboy freak, you could get the whole smegging lot!
