well hand of odd was a game where u could choose to be on either of two sides, the industrialists or the natives or treehuggers as theyre called. obviously if u play on the industrialists side u got to try make as much moolah as u can and vice versa. its been delayed so no one knows when it'll be out as OW are working on steef. which is why we dont know much about ME either. it might be the next game after steef? i guess it would have included all the bits that were taken or left out of MO meaning the characters and creatures like kintos, meetles and mugs. the storyline well i can only guess. maybe it involves munch raising the eggs and young gabbiwogs ?? other people can probably give u more details

What are you talking about theres a topic discussing Hand Of Odd right now, and as for Munch's Exoddus there's nothing on it right now. Besides what else are we suspossed to talk about? Oddworld 4 is the only real thing we've got at the moment. But if you want more on Hand Of Odd (me being too tired to talk all about it now) I suggest that you use the search key, that should give you pleanty of info on it.

I would have thought that Munch's Exodus would have followed Munch's Oddysee, even though we know that isn't the case at the moment.

Would Munch's exodus be the last of the quintology? Because I heard off the forum that the exodus ones don't count towards the quintology and were just extended bonus games to the Oddysees.... me's a bit confoosed???

Lulu, there are five games in the Oddworld Quintology:

Abe's Oddysee
Munch's Oddysee
Squeek's Oddysee
Nod's Oddysee
xxxxx's Oddysee

Nod is only a rumour, and we don't know about the final hero at all. You're right in thinking that the games marked 'Exoddus' don't count towards the Quintology's total, although they are part of it. OWI like to refer to them as 'bonus games', which is suitably fitting, but you can also think of them as an addendum to each main chapter of the story. While MO was in production, Lorne was confident there'd be several bonus games to fully explain his story.

There are two other series in the Oddworld franchise, the Habitales and Fearietales. The first game in the Habitales series is Hand of Odd, which has already been explained. I must, at this point, correct Steel Scrab and iterate that when the game was in production, there were three sides. Fearietales are games that explore the afterlife and spiritual side of Oddworld's realm. They are separate from the Quintology, therefore Hand of Odd is not, as I see some sites proclaiming, the fourth or fifth game in the Oddworld series.

For the record, Oddworld 4 is a confusing title. It's the fourth Oddworld game to be made, nothing more - it's not part of the Quintology, it's not a bonus game, it doesn't fit the descriptions of either the Habitales or the Fearietales series, it's simply a game that stands on its own.

You say 'the other' as if we know what the first two are! They could be the Mudokons, the Magog Cartel and the Vykkers Conglomerate; they could be the Industrials, the Natives and the Wildlife - we simply don't know. All official references to the number of 'teams' have told us three, though.

Nope, the Steef game is not part of the Quintology, neither will the game be called Steef's Oddysee. Squeek is most definitely the third character in the Quintology, as said by Lorne, Alf and numerous Inhabitants. Right now we know very little about him, or her, except that Squeek's Oddysee will heavily involve symbiositic creatures.

Okay: 1. Max, I think its pretty obvious that one sides industrial and one sides native in Hand Of Odd. Its not exactly gonna be three natives against each other is it? That would get rid of the whole "native harmony" thing. The third one is speculation. But the first two look pretty likely.

2. Steef/Squeek: I think Steef probably will be in the Quintology, because Lorne said that Abe and Munch were taking a vacation in this game, and they're in quintology games. And how do you know that they're wasnt a change of plan? Lara Croft started development as a man, then a Lara Cruz THEN Lara Croft. How do you know they havent changed Squeek to Steef? They sound simliar. (thats just a guess, cos I've been off the Oddworld scene for about 2 years and have missed updates and stuff, but that sounds like a reasonable arguement...

3. To who ever started this thread: Munch's Exoddus will probably come out after the "Steef" game (quintology or not), because every Quintology has, and I quote from the Abes Exoddus manual:
:
one or more bonus games.
4. As for the habitales release date: That may be after the Quintology has COMPLETELY finished, bonus games and all.

1. I never said there would be three native sides all against each other. In fact I said I had no idea who the three sides were. All I said was that when Hand of Odd was being produced, there were three sides, and that's official.

2. Read the official FAQ, it tells us that Oddworld 4 will not be part of the Quintology, but will run concurrent with it. What's more, since the game isn't called Oddworld: Steef's Oddysee, I think it's pretty clear it isn't following in the footsteps of previous games. In Squeek's Oddysee, we will control Abe, Munch and Squeek, yet Abe and Munch aren't in Oddworld 4.

Steef is happening at the same time as the events of the quintology. Since thats the case then perhaps Steef is part of the quintology but not important. Steef may not be a hero in the quintology but it doesn't mean Steef plays a small role of it. He could still be in it but not be a main hero like Abe and Munch. Like he would only have one game.

Do you see where I am getting at? Like Steef is just not an important character and his game takes place in the quintology time period as just exploring his world. Lorne wants to give Abe and Munch a rest. But now we will focus on Steef and his way of life.

I don't think we are going to be saveing things in Steef because it said on X-Factor this will be sort of an exploreing type game and not a puzzle solveing game like previous.

In other words, it runs concurrent to the Quintology. What it could be is that the Steef plays a fairly important part in the future of the Quintology (whether in Lorne's original movie scripts or added in at some point), but Lorne decided that he was such an interesting character, we needed some kind of introduction, almost a prequel to his primary inter-Quintology appearance. Or maybe this is just a break from Abe and Munch and the Steef will not appear in the Quintology at all.

I don't think 'rescuing' suits the Steef's character, but there's just no telling at this point.

Saving? Probably not for Steef. Pre- Quintology back-story for Steef? I think that would be cool! The More games the Merrier!

Yep, we'd pretty much ascertained that, although I don't remember Lorne actually saying Oddworld 4 was not part of the Quintology. The discussion now is how the game affects the Quintology, since they run concurrently.
