I guess they just appear bloodshot because that's the way Mudokons look. Alternatively, you have to agree that we haven't seen Abe sleep much. After long grueling shifts in RuptureFarms and having battled against the Magog Cartel so much, you'd expect his eyes to be at least a bit blood shot.
