Tornado!

In light of the horrific events that occured just a few days ago dealing with 80 Tornados spread throughout Kansas and most of Tornado alley, I thought it would be cool to talk about our individual Tornado stories.

Well I can say a few times in my whole life I have been through Tornados. The first time I was just 3 years old. It was a small twister that diden't do a lot of damage and actually flew over my old house.

The second I diden't even know about it until the next day when I found out a twister went threw my neighborhood knocking down trees and makeing minor damage. All I knew was that there was a real bad storm that night when it happened and I slept right through it which is just amazeing. That happened back in the summer of 1992

The third was exciting because it was a real hot summer day when it happened. I was going outside to get the mail when I noticed the insects and the birds were all silent. There was an errie silence and a greenish tinge in the air. It was extremely muggy and hot and there was absolutly no wind at all. I went to my backyard and I saw storm clouds headed my way real fast. I ran inside and my mom was like get in the basement quickly there is a Tornado headed streight are way. Luckily it dident touch down but the wind was real high when it came over us. And the cool thing is that when a Tornado does come my basement is a comfortible place to be. My basement is basically my family room with a 36 inch Television plus a professional pool table carpet and a bar.

So I was in comfort.

I don't know why but I love it when a Tornado or a bad storm comes. Things just get exciting I think. Its kind of neat but dangerous and scary at the same time. So have any of you been through Tornados?

Storms are the ultimate kind of weather. Thuderstorms are cool too, except when the power goes out. No computer...

Over the weekend there weren't any tornados in my area, but nearby there were 80mph winds. Fun fun fun. I've never been in a tornado either. I've heard the sirens come on, seen them form nearby and such on doppler, but never actually been in one. One time though, at my grandparents (northern Oklahoma) there was a single storm that spawned 27, I think. My cousin about 20 minutes away actually saw a few of them, lots of big plains around there.

We don't get Tornadoes down here in this part of Australia. Even in the higher parts of Australia, you'll only ever get a few hurricanes/cyclones a year.

In the UK we've had a max of 3 tornados in the past 15 years. All extremely weak.

I've never seen a real tornado...because there never had been any tornadoes up in Finland... and that's good thing...

I hate storms and even strong winds. When winding hard, I always think that I will fall. Even when I'm on solid ground. I just always get the feeling that I will fall from somewhere high.

Thunderstorms are terrible... I just hate them! That's the one bad thing about the Finnish summer--there are a lots of thunderstorms and they are all rather big.
Every time it starts thundering, I freak up--I cry, scream, shake and start saying weird things. And I never seem to remember anything after the storm.

Iv'e never seen a tornado for myself, but I am very interested in them. I'm glad New Hampshire doesn't have them. By the way, New Hampshire sucks.
