i think that munch's oddysee should be available on playstation as the other oddworld games are. i am hopeing that this is seen by the oddworld staff and that they would think about supplying a playstation version. because if you dont have the right console for the game its better off to get a different game than it is to get a whole new console.

if you agree with what i have said reply and tell me what you think.

There's probably been one million and one topics on this one and if Munch's Oddysee should be on PC. The answer will be no, because Munch's Oddysee and the next 5 Oddworld games will be an Xbox exclusive title.

I can understand your viewpoint Josh, but this was the decision that was best for Oddworld to make.

Now, as some of you may know, I am also a fan of the Final Fantasy series of games. Final Fantasy X is a PlayStation 2 exclusive title. But I never hear people complaining about it. Square-Enix are also going to release a game called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. This is a Gamecube exclusive title. This means all serious FF fans will need to consider whether to buy a Gamecube. I don't have a Gamecube, but I'm going to buy one. The same reason I bought an Xbox for Munch, and a PS2 for FFX.

What's the difference here? Other games are console exclusives and no one says anything. Oddworld becomes an exclusive title and people say something and want it to be released on PS2/PC/whatever. Why the difference? I go to a FF forum and no one complains at all about the upcoming Gamecube title. Yet most people there only have a PS2. I don't understand why Oddworld seems to get put down just because of the decision to go Xbox exclusive. Why is it alright for one company and not of another?

There are always going to be times when the games you want are going to be on a different console than you own. Unfortunately we can't all afford to own multiple consoles, but just be consolidated by the fact that if you can't play one game you like on your console, then there's surely another 20 titles on the console you own that are exclusives to it. You can always rent from a video store, or play on a friend's console.

u must be brainwashed or something, don't u understand that the companies make advantage of u that way? letting u spend ur money like that! for me one reason not to buy any other console

I just love the games I am into. It's my choice to buy the consoles for the games I love, just like it's your choice not to buy them. I'm not a big gamer, and as a result I have chosen to limit my choice of games to only a few titles/developers.

You missed my point. My point is that I am active on one FF forum and I visit others occasionally, and the people there do not say much against the Gamecube release. But we have an abundance of people come here and say something against the Xbox release. I do give you credit for being against "all" companies though ... many people only complain about Xbox only.

Makes you wonder if Oddworld were a PS2 release, would there be as many people saying these kinds of things.

I don't think so, I don't know much Xbox or GameCube owners that are complaining about PS2 exclusive games...

Can it be that PS2 owners have too much the habit to have all the good games and exclusivity

I am sorry but live with it. OWI is not going to change anything. The X-Box is much better for what they want to produce. So I am sorry but your not going to see it on PlayStation anymore.

Well true Xavier but I get the impression that OWI wants to move onwards to the future with better technology. I just don't see them going back to the old technology. I bet when the contract is up they will move their games to a whole new system.

actually no, cos xbox wont stay like this 4ever! they'll make new versions, xbox plus etc. so, u'll still be spending ur money, dont worry about that!

HI

Now there are only two possible reasons why OWI went to XBox:

1 - Currently, the most powerful gaming technology is the PC, and it always will be. Therefore the only thing that would make OWI choose the XBox over the PC would be a bribe.

2 - A PC cannot support the control interface for a 3D view on MO, and requires gamepads as standard to run it. Only two games consoles are really worth having any games on in 3D: the PS2 and the XBOX.

Now, No. 1 cant be true because OWI stand against that sort of capitalism with avengance. Leaving Only No. 2.
So why the XBOX over PS2? the answer is simple: The XBOX has more capacity for memory, hard drive space, processors and graphics processors.

So, we know why they chose the XBOX: Because its the only platform that would let OWI make their games in 3D.

Hope this clears a few things up.

I am not being Idealist XAVIER, OWI are. Obviously OWI are going to get money from going onto XBOX, but thats a subsidy which will allow them to make the change from PC to XBOX without being uneconomic.
