Oddworld Art Deco in Oddworld

During the period between the two World Wars, an eclectic design style developed that later became known as Art Deco. The name was derived from the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs Industriels et Modernes, held in Paris, which celebrated living in the modern world. Today, "Art Deco" is used to refer to a mix of styles from the 1920s and 1930s.

Anyway..
We can find " Art Deco-style" in Oddworld.

How do you feel ?

Yea it is really interesting how OWI relates things from our world to theirs. Its all part of the process of production. What your seeing in Oddworld is researched information transformed to OWI's vision. The artists take that and translate it to his or her own work. What you end up getting is something profound and rather cool. Atusiya This is the field I am working in college for.

A conceptual artist or designer must research information before he or she can create his or her world. Thats why a lot of things in Oddworld and any other game for that matter resembels things that are based on actual information in our world. And this is a perfect example. The Feeco Depot sign relating to those other 1930 train signs from the Art Deco.

about the logos and stuff:
The happy faces of RuptureFarms and SoulStorm Brewery are a "parody" of Roland (the clown of McDonalds)
Told by Lorne himself

Yes, I personally like how Oddworld uses all these certain types of styles and twists them to the typical Oddworldish humor and strangeness. And as for the Ronald McDonald thing representing the RuptureFarms logo....well I never knew that, thanks Xav!
