Since I played AO at a friends house in 1997. I immediately bought the PC version and played it till my fingers hurt and swelled up so much I couldn't press any of the keys except the space bar.

On a less important, rather obnoxious silly point.

The Question should be: How long have you been an Oddworld fan?

Ever since I first played AO on PS1 and that was 7 years ago. Of course back then I thought I was the only fan out there but until the day I found this place I was a solo fan.

When I think about it Abe's Oddysee was the first Playstation game I EVER played. I too felt like the only fan in the world when all my friends say it is silly...

Ive been a fan since the beginning. So back the summer of 97, when I found a demo of a game called abes oddysee. Played the demo beat it. Then had to have the game, thus Sept 97 I got AO, and became a true oddwolrd fan. Since that time from the demo I got AO for playstation, AE the day it came out for playstation, and MO the day it came out for xbox. In fact Halo and MO were my first two games for xbox when I got it.

I think there has been a topic like this before, a while back called how did you become and oddworld fan? oh well.

5 years and 63 days, since Boxing Day 1997, when I first played the demo disk that came with the PlayStation I got for Christmas.

EDIT: 7 years ago? I'd double-check that if I were you. That means you first played AO in early 1996, which I doubt. Then again, not having any knowledge of video-gaming before that date...

Hmmm ... I wonder why I didn't see this topc. *looks at date of initial topic* Oh, that's why.

I have been an Oddworld fan now for almost 3 years. It all began for me back in April 2000 with Abe's Exoddus. But my Oddworld fanaticisim began in June 2000. A few months later I created Oddworld-Web. And am still just as big of a fan as I was back then!

Thank you Oddworld for such a wonderful game, that has become so much part of my life.

Abe Babe...

I remember I hired it out on ps1 in 1997 and I loved it. So I was given it on PC for christmas that year. At first I couldn't figure out all the buttons on the keyboard - but now I can't figure out all the buttons on the ps1!

Ehhhh... let me think...
About two-three years...
When I first played AO's demo, I found the game scary.
I was afraid of Abe n_n!
But the first full OW game that I bought was AE.
I later bought AO from my friend, which was a pirate copy...
and I can no longer play AO, because I sold away my old PSOne..

Hey... this is kinda off-topic, but, can anyone recommend for an PS1 emulator...?

I've been a fan ever since I saw the intro to abe's oddysee at a short film festival.

If memory serves, it was before AO had even hit the shelves.

..Yes, memory does serve. Because when I saw the game in software etc, I remember thinking "hey, it's that abe guy."

I first played AO in 1997 or 1998 when i was 7 or 8 on the computer. I found it hard and frustrating. But about two years ago we got AE on playstation, and I found the begining of that much easier than the first game. That's when I became a fan, and I can now finish AO with all 102 muds and the same amount of frustration.

About 5 years.

(how do you save 102 muds when there are only 99 muds. Even the intro in AE says:" I just returned from rescueing 99 mudokons...")
