Oddworld Did Sligs Birth From The Fire of Paramites???

I am completely stumped... Do you think Sligs came in a Paramite patch or were they originals? Any-who. I think they were in the Para-brood.

Sligs are originals. I'm pretty sure OWI have already said that...

They come from Skilla the Slig queen. I am sure Paramites dident come from the same thing.

They do look similar in ways though.

You have a point. They do look look alike but there are other wild Slig queens also...

Yes there are many other Slig queens out there, but none are as prominate as Skillya. Although there may be others that are also industrialized Skillya seems to be the most widly known.

But we don't know for sure if there is even more slig queens out there let alone others. How do you know that?

Infact I think since Oddworld is so big, Sligs are only native to Mudos strictly. So I think there is only one queen for each super race, and when she is ready to die she births another queen to take her place.

Oddworld is so big that Mudos is a small cornor of the planet. For instance the races of Oddworld are like completely alien to each other because of the vastness of the planet. Where one race would be extremely advance to a race on the other side of the planet would take years to get to that point in their technology.

That nature suggest to me that best represents the races of Oddworld because they are one super race in that area. There is only one queen for each super race thus sligs would have one queen. But I can be wrong too.

Actually, there is nothing wrong with discussing a subject that has been discussed before. It is a lot better to start a new topic on it, than resurrect a topic that is a year old. Plus Zach is a new member, he should be given a chance to discuss his theories and thoughts on Oddworld creatures, just like the rest of us.

Oddworld stated somewhere that Skillya is the only Slig Queen at this point in time. Therefore, although she's the only one at the moment, there would have been more before her, and will be more after her. I wonder if the previous Slig Queens were as corrupt and as uncaring as Skillya.

Hi, I'm new....

Well I always thought if it like being that Evolution still works well in oddworld. Sligs are an intelligent extension of Paramites like we are an intelligent extension of apes. A Shrykull is a part Paramite, part Scrab and part Mudokon.

Well, you know we don't look very much like apes. Possibly the Sligs are like that to Paramites: they are smarter but they lack that frontal appendage. Without pants, they walk on all fours the same as Paramites. They're alot smaller, but so are we compared to gorillas.

Hello there new members! I'm the small can of expired gabbiar but you can just call me Roy. This is my first post in a while (since my computer was taken away for repairs). Anyway onto the point...

Futuresal does have a valid point. Paramites and Sligs may have descended from the same species. However, after a long time, their genetic code may have separated in order to better adapt to their surroundings. Sligs, if I'm not mistaken, used to be swamp dwelling creatures right? Soft, mushy ground would have made it impractical for feet (unless they had a very large surface area) and so, in response, they stopped (if they ever did) growing legs. They may just have been like mudskippers, using powerful arms (flippers ) to bounce across soft, marshy terrain. Paramites are forest animals and inhabit the ground. And since they are carnivorous, they would need legs to be able to catch their prey easily.

One piece of evidence that may link paramites and sligs is that they are both VERY social by nature. Sligs and paramites usually congregate in groups (paramites especially. They probably do it instinctively).

But I'm not arguing with Xavier or anybody. I just want to make that clear . I'm just saying..

sorry but we have no proof sligs are social.

Sorry, Xav, but.... this is from the official site:

:
When not working, Sligs love to goof off. They are highly social creatures and tend to feel safer when in large groups of their own kind. They are sadistic by nature, love to hunt, abuse those under their management, play card games, and create trouble. They are huge sports fans and love to gamble.
Canned Cabbiar is right....Sligs and paramites both are social....

okay... right, I was wrong.
but showing us that 2 species are each one sociable doesn't proof us that tey have the same origins...

sorry but I need more then a facial ressemblance (sligs have 5 tentacles and paramites 6) and some "same" sociability to proof they have a band
