Heh, you'd be surprised at how much porn stuffs is in my library. Well, some of them are sexual education books but there's this other one that somebody found...

Several of my school's compulsory texts have murder and swearing... even a little bit of sex theme...

We had to read crime and mystery and most of them had murder in it. Like this one called "Ten Little Niggers". Murders are based on a poem and this one part has this guy with an axe sticking out of his head which corresponds to:

"Seven little nigger boys chopping up sticks,
one chopped himself in halves and then there were six..."

Our library is nearly the size of an average public library. We have many books relating to the occult, white pride, and murder. Some of the more questionable books are kept in back, and are only to be checked out for research purposes. Though you can only get them with a signed recomendation from one of your teachers.

I once found a book about documented cases and photos of the aftermath of many of the more well known serial killers. I stole it, because I'm such a rebel.

That's right, down with the dewey decimal system!

As far as books go, are there even any books that don't swear and murder anymore? No. Not any good ones, anyway.

Where the Hell do you go to school? The last time I checked, those kind of books were illegal to have in a school. The ones on murder could be acceptable, but the super attendent would have gotten the other ones banned by now. I could understand it if those topics were just parts of bigger books, but come on...

I go to 'hanford west high school'

The books have not been banned because they are so old, and rather diffifult to find unless you know where to look.

No, not really.

The few times people have, the school has responded with 'if you don't like the books, don't read them'.

One of the novels our year is required to read is centred rape and murder, and most books that have a profusion of swearing are usually pretty cheap, anyway.

To Kill A Mocking Bird?

I'm reading that at the moment for school. Curse that Radley place, and their spooky-ness. I'm not very far, I'm only reading it for around 15 minutes each morning.

So in answer to this thread, yes our school allows us too. As it is centered around rape.

No... I'm planning to read that outside of school, though... my year 6 teacher recommended it to me and it sounds interesting.

The book we have to read is called "We all fall down". Sounds like the Black Death, no? o_O It's only for the bottom classes, though... our class has to read (and analyse. what joy.) "Rebecca". I got them both because I'm a geek.

Sex, murder, swearing, our school libraries got em all! In fact, i just finished reading a borrowed book with them all in! And as for porn magazines, my German teacher holds them up to the whole class!
Rape i haven't found yet though, but with the record so far, i would guess its in there somewhere! But should we really be telling all this to a nine year old girl? I mean, what year/grade is she in anyway?

We can read anything, but if it's in an english lesson they let us read anything except for : porn and for some reason comics (not that i read any but it's been known for teachers to confiscate comic books) There's tons of murder, rape and swear-ey (?) books in our library, that's probably because our school has a sixth form attached to it. No porn though
