Anybody else ever played AO or AE on a Playstation 2 with texture smoothing on?

What MIDI music?
I think he means that some of the sound effects have been post-processed, resulting in an aliased, tinny sound. It's probably a compression artifact.

What?
All I said was Nate wasn't right about what MIDI music was, I've only said that once so what's your problem?

I didn't suggest that I was defining MIDI music. I was explaining which music Barnacle was referring to and why he had mistakenly assumed it was MIDI.

Oh, I just assumed you were telling Varrok what MIDI is...

I've never played either of them on the PC, so the PS1 is it for me!

I was referring to the PC version's music in certain levels.
The rest of the game is actually very well done with MIDI,
but the Mudomo Vault and the sound when you rescue a mudokon are simply ear grating
I compared the to. From what I remember, the music in the PC version was louder. I'll check again.

Although I haven't played on PC, it can offer more potential than the consoles, so the game is more enjoyable.

I got so used to the PS1 games, even spending years not playing them I can come back to them and instantly pick up and play again.

I bought AO and AE on Steam just to have copies which would never stop working or break, but the controls are just plain worse in my opinion, easier to access but less ability to switch from moving to talking and back again seamlessly. As a general rule I find movement intensive games such as platform games work better with a controller anyway.

Also everything in the PC games moves faster, which I'll never get used to as the speeds and timing of the Ps1 games are hardwired into me.

Did you use numpad buttons to talk? It's MUCH more fast to switch than other numeric buttons at top of keyboard

Whilst PS1 would be the first system I played Oddworld on, PC offers alot more now than a console ever would. As soon as I got the PC version I have never touched the PS1 version of the game, bar trying to find out if it were possible to transfer PS1 files over to the PC version through level editing etc (which is possible with some objects but doesn't work with others).

I'm going to say PC. Especially now that Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath are arriving there.

I like Munch's Oddysee as a Console game and Stranger's Wrath as a PC game.

I think its because of the controls since SW is part FPS
