i watched Love, Honor And Obey the other day. it was odd because most of the main characters names were the same as their real ones. Jude Law was called Jude, Ray Winstone was called Ray, etc.

all in all, i thought it was shit. it was like a gangster version of the mock documentary Operation Good Guys, which was fucking brilliant, by the way, but it just didn't cut it with me. most of the cast (give or take a few) were actually actors from Operation Good Guys and even played similar roles, and Jude Law even made a guest appearance in one of the episodes of OGG. it seemed very 'thrown together' and was like they were trying to have one last stab at that sort of comedy.

and god, Ray Winstone. i never want to see atrocious acting like that ever again. he seemed well out of place. the ending had the shittest twist i have ever seen, too.

I watched Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant because it was on the tv when I turned it on, and I couldn't find anything to change it to, and I'll say this, I didn't hate it. This may have something to do with recently having seen about 15 minutes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians which made blood seep from my eyeballs. The idea being that anything would be a fresh breeze after that, but I don't know. I just plain didn't hate it.
I used to be big on those books a few years ago, but I've never gotten around to watching the movie. This post makes me wonder if I should check it out sometime.

The Book of Eli was on TV last night, gotta say I was quite surprised at how good it was. Definitely worth a watch if you like post-apocalyptic stories.
My friend recommended that I watch this and I loved it. I thought it was going to be a really bible bashing story to begin with.

Saw Mega Shark Vs. Crocosaurus, staring Jaleel White. Who could resists that combination? Movie was actually more entertaining than the previous Mega Shark movie, and Asylum in general seems to have finally gotten a hang of making terrible movies that are also amusing as opposed to being bad and boring. Still, the scene where Mega Shark bites a torpedo fired at it, and then flies out of the ocean with it was amazing. I didn't think they could surpass the scene of him jumping thousands of feet into the air to attack a jumbo jet, but they did it.

The Crocosaurus also got a pretty good scene, busting into Sea World like the Kool-Aid man to eat three orcas. I've not laughed at actual comedies that much in recent memory.

Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if Asylum started making a "Mega Shark" franchise now.

Holy. Shit. Black Swan was intense. I went in with the belief that I was most likely not going to like this film. But I was wrong, I was so fucking wrong. Natalie Portman delivered such an astounding performance through the whole show and her performance was that believable I was cringing half the time, cringing at all the things her counterpart was making her do/see.

I would really recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Amazing film is what it translates to.

Someone has never seen a Darren Aronofsky film.

Just looked him up; he directed Requiem for a Dream, a film I've always intended to see. I guess maybe I'll give Black Swan a look-in.

Wow, can't say that was expected.

Just watched Machete. I really wish I saw it in theaters, it was awesome. Climax was a bit hard to keep track of all the major character though, and one got screwed over pretty badly, not even having a decent standoff.

When the ballerina a) is sexy in a frightening sort of way and b) suffers from a psychotic episode.

I added some fitting music to the chase scene in The Third Man. You know, there is a cinema in the centre of Vienna who plays the movie every week since it's premiere and it's so great to watch this on the screen. (there is one scene in the movie where Holly and Anna run into a cinema, that's the one)

Finally got around to watching Piranha 3-D . The 3-D effects were typically delightfully obvious, but at least it embraced it's blatancy. The big gorefest attack near the end went on a little too long, but it was surprisingly gorier than I expected. A couple of the deaths were pretty nice for being more than just "someone gets eaten."

Fuck man, why did he have to die. Part of me knew it wasn't going to work out, but the other part was rooting its hardest for Paul. The whole movie was a tease, but the ending was so brutal. Doesn't even seem like his last will would be found either.

Aside from that, I was surprised the movie kept my suspense while the whole time in a single space, and you only see one person.

I agree completely. I went into that movie with the mindset that it would be mind-blowing and amazing, but it didn't do any of that - not even the twist. It was a very good movie but didn't live up to the hype (for me).

I don't believe any film will live up to the hype created around it, because I believe that that hype is just a marketing device. Sometimes it may appear to live up to the hype through a placebo effect.

I saw The Iron Giant again. I was looking after my nephew, and he wanted to watch a film, so we watched that, and I will say, I enjoyed it.
I've also been watching Saxondale with my brother. Saxondale easily competes with the character of Alan Partridge. He's just as funny.

I saw The Black Swan/The Deadly Swan/The Dark Swan. Whatever that movie is.

It was good, but I still didn't like it. Lots of the camera work was a little too full of Natalie Portman's face looking distraught.

I don't think that the script was anything to scream about, I'll admit to that. In the hands of a lesser director it could have easily been tv movie of the week material. But everything was so well executed, and some of the scenes were amazingly designed, and beautifully shot that it rose well above the constraints of the script for me.

The final dance scenes, the Black Swan scenes, for instance, were mesmerizing.
