I Have Just Seen... III

Instead of having lots of short-lived threads about individual films or telly shows, I thought I'd start a blanket coverage, all-rounder of a thread. So, if there's a DVD you've just seen, cinema, TV, illegal download, whatever - just post here.

I saw the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven a couple of nights ago, it was alright although it suffered from modernizing the history to make the good christian knights and Saladin look like saints.

Been watching the entire Sopranos series again for the first time since it aired, good shit. Remembered being scarred as a yougun seeing the raep scene in season 3 tho

Dixanadu 06-02-2010 03:47 AM

The Jeremy Kyle show.

It's not as lulzworthy as it used to be.

Strike Witch 06-02-2010 03:48 AM

That new Sherlock Holmes movie.

I thought the super-duper convoluted mystery plot stuck together pretty well. It fit the theme, and it was fun to see it all come together.

the original Precious Bane.

decent film.

The 'Lost in Space' movie with Matt LeBlanc.

It was bad

Wings of Fire 06-02-2010 11:23 AM

Bad is about the biggest understatement there is.

It's probably the second worst film I've seen after Batman and Robin.

Sekto Springs 06-02-2010 11:26 AM

Battlefield Earth anyone?

MA 06-02-2010 12:19 PM

Command & Conquer anyone?

Fucking Light weights

Sekto Springs 06-02-2010 02:18 PM

Dingo Pictures anyone?

Mac Sirloin 06-02-2010 03:30 PM

Lucker is probably the worst movie I've ever seen. Not because of the low quality acting, which it has, or the awful sound editing and music, which it's full of, but because it actually made me feel physically poor. Not really sick so much as an awful sinking feeling.

Strike Witch 06-02-2010 04:07 PM

I don't mind that Lost In Space movie. It's crap, but it's harmless crap.

How about "amazing!"?

Sekto Springs 06-02-2010 06:59 PM

It was pretty damn awesome.

Not to mention it had the hottest incarnation of Lacey Chabert in a movie.

Strike Witch 06-02-2010 08:36 PM

oh FUCK

Eliza Thornberry

Sekto Springs 06-02-2010 08:57 PM

Yep, and early Meg.

Good Lord. I never realized.

She being in Lost in Space, that is.

Emesdee 06-03-2010 05:35 PM

Just finished The Road. Less depressing than I expected it to be.

Did you read the book? You read the book didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?

I thought it was downright cheerful for being a book where there are no longer any food sources other than ourselves, and nothing even remotely good ever happens ever.

Just watched both episodes of Terry Pratchett's Going Postal. Much better than Hogfather (haven't seen The Colour Of Magic yet)
My favourite parts were probably the three scenes where the letters show Moist those affected by his "victimless" cons.

I was expecting both of them to die. At the very end, I thought the kid was going to shoot the man who approached him. So yeah, a relatively upbeat ending was a shock.

enchilado 06-04-2010 03:37 PM

Dammit, I want to see them. Hogfather was oh-kay - I liked Teatime - but Colour of Magic probably wasn't as good.

Did Moist's actor do a good job?

Daxter King 06-04-2010 05:27 PM

Saw Avatar for the first time. I enjoyed the action scenes but everything else was mixed for me. Its a visual feat if nothing else though.

Bullet Magnet 06-05-2010 04:32 PM

Going Postal. I enjoyed it. Golems.

T-nex 06-06-2010 04:07 AM

I saw Boogeyman(a friend gave me some horror movies that he didn't want anymore)... It was a nice, cliche horror movie, but slow at times.
