My prediction of when Stranger or Oddworld 4 will be released!

Squeek would be a more character looking character, the Ratz are wildlife type. And Lorne did say that if he snowed us Squeeks , then they have to re-creatate Squeek.

I would still get "squeek's oddysee" but many wouldn’t I mean its a rat. The people at OWI are incredibly smarter than me and would see this even remaking the ratz they still have to essentially be rats so what exactly can they do apart from scurry around. They can’t really be much different.

Can't they think of any Odd names. Pork means pig. A pig in oddworld? Or is it Pigz.

I think this was already cleared up in another thread, but someone who had pretty intimate knowledge of the ins and outs of Oddworld reminded us each Quintology hero will be a species we have not yet seen. And even though Ratz were designed specifically for MO and not really thought of before, just remember Munch was originally planned to fly. So nothings written in stone.

EDIT: I almost forgot, the game store around here just put up a PreOrder box for "Oddworld 4" which said the game was slated for release in June. Strangely, the list of upcoming games suggested September.

Whoa! I'm gonna feel really stupid if Stranger comes out in June. What am I saying?! It can't some out in June. It defies all logic! Surely reviewers would've recieved copies of the game to look at if it was coming out this soon.

You see everybody I am not coo coo after all. This seems to be going on everywhere and I want to know what it means. I predicted June because I wanted to be careful and not expect it to come out in June. But I am beginning to believe in the impossible here. OWI is keeping things so secret that what if everything we think is very decieveing and the game stores and the publishers are playing the same game inwhich OWI is playing with us?

I don't think it will come out in late June but ya never know with the way OWI is so secretive these days I don't leave out that notion that the game stores and publishers know something we don't know. And they too are in on the secret. Never say impossible with OWI because they are well known for surprises. This game is going to take us on surprise I really have this feeling.

Little clues that a lot of OWF members have neglected to look at over the past few months makes me believe in something very different than what the forums have concluded. For me I am always thinking outside of the box and what was impossible is now in the relm of probable or possible. Never say never my friend! Ok I may be an oddball among you forumers but I honestly believe I am on to something. Give me credit for at least trying ya know?

I'm talking about gameplay. We haven't heard anything about gameplay, which is the most important factor. Lorne said so himself in X-Factor.

Percisely my point Oddguy think about it. Why would there not be any information on the gameplay except for what we know from the X-Factor?

That is percisely what OWI is trying to keep secret from us. They don't want us to know about the story or the gameplay and they would tell reviewers to keep their mouth shut because this game is simply a big surprise. They are saying to the people who run the show to keep all of this classified. OWI has released a number of pictures of characters and envirorments, but that does not tell anything about the very essance of the next game. And I have no doubt that all the way up until the day of release they are going to still keep things secret and release a small minor comercial.

Lets just say this game is unlike any game we have seen before aswell as the process of developement. This not like a normal game, its a special game and it requires special attention that makes it stand out among other games.

That would be stupid if OWI didn't promote their next game. I mean, Stranger isn't like "The Passion" which Mel had nobody reviewing until it came out. No expectations are set when all the reviewers see is the final product, because that's just what it is...final. OWI kept the production very secret, which is a smart move.

Not quite Oddguy what if ok one of these days a comercial of Stranger is shown on TV and it is shown once? Well to us the consumer in theory, we would be fascinated in what we saw on TV inwhich afterwords flock to the stores and buy this secret game and discover that its unlike anything we seen before.And mind you Passion was a huge success.

OWI is promoteing their game but they are doing it differently than other gaming industries. They are doing it through the Magazines, E3, etc etc.

I believe I am on to something and if you don't believe me I don't blame you I wouldn't believe myself eather but as for now I am on my own with this idea and nobody can stop me Muhahahahahahahaha!

If it's shown only once, there is a possibility that not everyone will see it, unless it's aired during the superbowl...and I highly doubt it will. I sure hope OWI isn't doing what you're suggesting PA...that would be really a not so smart move. You can't just release a game and go, "Okay, you know nothing about this game and neither does anyone else. Spend your money on it now!" That just doesn't work. We as Oddworld fans know about Stranger because we research. The general populous probaly doesn't know anything about Stranger. If OWI wants to attract knew fans through this game, they're going to advertise and let reviewers have a look at their game.

EDIT: There you go again with the editing. The Passion was a huge success because it generated so much controversy. Non Christians saw it because they wanted to see what everyone was talking about. Fox News doesn't have news analysts talking about Stranger right now...do they?

I thought Munch advertising was done just right. Had OWI not released so much production info, it would have done better I think. Also we have to factor in the move from PS2 to Xbox.

The advirtiseing campaign for Munch was awesome and amazeing but it was too good. It was too much and thats what caused it to fail. The move to X-Box was perhaps maybe part of it because we had to wait one more year and we dident want to and it was already two three years after AE. We had expectation that probabaly could have delivered if it wasn't slated for a launch title. It doesn't matter wether or not Munch is on X-Box or PS2. Infact its better for Oddworld to be on X-Box because of the technology. If OWI would have waited one more year on development for Munch when it was switched to X-Box then we would have gotten what we all were hopeing for. The problem was simply timeing because Munch was slated to be a launch title and they had one year to switch systems and build a game. Thats crunch time in production terms.

Mainly what I am saying is that you have to balance it out. Too much can cause expectations that arn't met. Too little would cause little intrest and become a dead game. Some where in batween with the advirtisement is just right. And I believe OWI is doing just that. They are not haveing as much advirtisement as Munch but they are not haveing too little info. It may seem like little bits of info but in reality its just enough to make the general public look at this and say "Oooh I want more!"

Guys, don't freak about Stranger. We are all fans and are a little "crazy" (for lack of a better word) about Oddworld and we make our blood pressures way too high over this. It won't come out in June, though I wouldn't be surprised if they show us something really cool in June which is probly the case. A bunch of no-nothing game informers saw a little something on the internet that said "something special in June" and made a big commotion as if it was being released to receive more money and publicity. As for the dissapointments, Munch was the "ugly duckling" of OWI and Lorne knows not to make the same mistakes again, I know it's hard to control your large expectations but guys, it's not perfect, there will be dissapointments in the game that will have to live with. You guys know everything I said already, but I'm just saying it to sound smart and to help you guys keep your cool.
