Crimsonxking brings up a good point.
Is there or is there not an eye rolling emoticon on the forums?

Hmmm. All this being new is no good for me. No good at all.

Oh, what? On topic? Uhhhh ummm..
I believe everyone's points have merit?!

Gilrod, seriously though you should have chosen you're timing more carefully until you were absolutely sure, we have after all been waiting for years.

Seriously enough, I was going to wait for a mod to say this but it seems good coming from me. Can we stay on topic and leave Mr. Gilray alone, he's developing one of our favourite game series again, he's actually bringing it back, three years ago we couldn't have done more than speculate over this, he's already said that he couldn't help but postpone the release of his projects. Just be happy. Geez.

An announcement of an announcement, huh?

Well, I'm not happy that the July release date has been pushed back, and there's chances that they might not even announce something in September either. Not gonna whine about it, and I don't reckon anyone else should either. Take a look at the SonicRetro forums. They're full of the whiniest, bitchiest nitpickers ever. If things keep going as they are, there's a chance these forums could turn out like that too.

Also, Stewart, I understand you're excited for the project, we are too, but I think you're right in saying you should close your mouth from now on, until you have a genuine announcement, that is. It's common for projects to be delayed, and when you say something will be announced at a certain time, people expect it and raise their hopes. When it's delayed, people are let down. A surprise release of the site would be awesome.

As whiny and annoying as this website is, it will never ever come anywhere close to being as whiny and annoying as the Sonic fanbase is. We're not even anywhere close to that, and I don't think anyone ever will be. Sonic fanbase is a special case. If we wanted to reach their levels, we'd have to already decide the new game sucks based on like one screenshot and start talking about it in the past tense (that game sucked ect) before it is even out and start five protests about how it's not the same as it used to be no matter what it actually looks like... and don't get me started on if Abe's stitches are a different color. That would ruin the entire franchise forever.

... and I disagree on your last point, I'd rather him talk, but I already made my points on that so I'll not be redundant.

There is indeed.

Games on Demand use a different file structure than Xbox Live Arcade games.

Tough guy? I wasn't even acting anything remotely like a tough guy and I am most definitely anything but one. Do you know what the term "Internet tough guy" even means? If you are going to try and troll someone, you need to have something more solid than this. OANST was a master compared to that.

Or, you know, we can ditch the whole trolling thing and have an actual on-topic conversation about this stuff. I think you guys are overreacting to the extreme here and you are being giant ungrateful dicks to the people making video games for you. If you disagree with me and think you are justified, at least give a legitimate reason in response. Or don't respond at all. Ignoring me is always an option.

Edit: Oh, and everyone else. All you had to do was a little googling. Or know what you are talking about. See, XBLA and Games on Demand use different file structures. Games on Demand can go over 2GB, yes, but nobody ever said they couldn't. XBLA is a completely different thing and indeed cannot go over 2GB.

Imagine that. Someone in the video game business actually knew what they were talking about as opposed to a bunch of people on a forum that won't even google check their claims before they make them. I never would have guessed.
Cue eye rolling here.
Im not even going to read all that, just know you have been trolled.

Also, everyone saying there is a 2GB cap, shut the fuck up. You do not know what you are talking about, even you supposed MS agent.

Looking at my 360 right now, the Lara Croft game is 2.02 GB

Suck it

Perhaps you SHOULD read it before you claim you trolled, as everything I was saying to you can be summed up as "That's a pretty bad attempt at trolling, learn how to do it better".

Seriously. Trolling only works when it has some part of itself steeped in fact or previous conversation. It's always best to try and stay as on-topic as possible when trolling. I'm trying to help you.

The download cap for XBLA games is "approximately" 2GB.

The fact that you typed out a 4 paragraph response to one sentence shows how hard you got trolled.

How about stay on-topic, ah?!

AbeMudokon has been sent many messages asking if it's going to be on psn/xbl, but he never answer like people would like to. I'm one of them!
Do you guys think all the new games are going to be released on both platforms?

Sorry if it's off-topic! I'm new here

One paragraph was to your sentence.

The second was trying to get it back on-topic.

The other two were to "everyone else", which means not you.

But, of course, that's all irrelevant. It's never the size. It's the content. Someone good at trolling would know that.

Anyway, I have to admit it's kind of weird MS caps the download size differently when it's a Game on Demand or Arcade Game

Probably because Games on Demand are worth it because they're almost guarenteed to sell well.

Buuuuuuut, it's supposedly not an arbitrary cap, but rather a technical cap. Which doesn't make any damn sense.

The way the two things work are completely different. Like, where and how they store the data. It's different. I'm no Xbox 360 mechanic, so I don't know the exact details on the differences, but that's the answer.

Okay, but that doesn't make any damn sense. Now that I know that it's a problem with the way that the game is stored, I'm just going to store it differently.

Hey, nobody said Microsoft was being logical about it. I have no idea why they haven't changed it yet. Could be there is a good reason, but I don't know it. All I know is it hasn't been changed.

It may well be a beaurocratic restriction rather than a hardware one. Perhaps they take a smaller cut of the profit off Arcade games and thus want to limit the number of games in that list. The result would be that games that are especially large or polished would be forced to go through a standard release (followed by a Games On Demand release) and not just be on the Arcade.

Games on Demand are just retail games that did very well, and we're put on that service a year or so later. If what you're saying was the case then we would see a whole lot more than we currently have. No. Microsoft cleans up on the Arcade games.

I fail to see how anything you said disagrees with what I said. My point was that Microsoft probably make a larger profit off retail games than Arcade games. Also that they only want to pay for the storage and bandwidth of selling large games after they've been sold in stores (thus reducing the number of people who will want to download them).

It's possible we will hear something tomorrow. But it might not be an announcement of the game yet or anything. Could very well be anything. They might also get shafted by things again and not be able to announce what they want to. I'll make sure to keep checking back tomorrow anyway, of course.
