I was 12 when AO came out, and 13 when AE came out.

Saved 88 or so Muds in AO my first play. How bad of me.

I first played when I was 8, I remember I was very frustrated when I got the bad ending after all that effort. >_< I got the perfect ending first, though, when I was around 12.

I do believe I first played Oddworld (AE to be exact) when I was either 3 or 4 years old. I was never able to get past the Mudanchee Vaults.

I think I was 8. I remember being scared shitless when I played the PSX demo of AO and got down to the stockyards and heard the Scrab walking below me.

I didn't think that the demo version went that far, I thought it stopped after you left Rupturefarms...

Jayden you must have been the most quick thinking baby in the world to play Oddworld when you were..... One.

First played Oddworld? I think I was 15... i remember I had downloaded the Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus demos from Oddworld's website over DIALUP... it took forever.

I also have this memory of seeing the Abe's Oddysee commercial air on TV. I only saw it once... I think I was 12 or 13 years old (this was around 1996). I was completely taken by it... but never had the hardware to support the game until years later. God, those were the days.

Same here but not to the extent that I can play a game which makes most teenagers think hard at the age of one.

I don't think its really possible playing Oddworld or any video game when you were 1.
Think about it, you would end up get bored and walking or crawling away to play with your toys

The demo ended when you managed to get all muds in the level (13 or so I think it was). You could get to the stockyards but the second screen (where normally you could hop over the Scrab pens) was littered with mines and there was absolutely no getting through. Since it wasn't clear to me at first I kept trying to get past the mine field .

When you tried to hop over the bombs, a random red ring appears and destroyes all the bombs and you. I think...

I was in 1st grade, and it took me hours to finally learn how to use gamespeak, I also killed alot of mudokuns, and I gave up once I got to Necrums scrab vault. But later I came back to it when I was some where around the age of ten and beat the game.

bobtheguy, please do not double post. You can edit previous posts by using the Edit button on the bottom-right.

And, yes, of course the Oddworld games have had demos. It's fairly standard practise in the game industry.

Sadly, i didn't realize the awesomeness of AO or AE, let alone heard of it, even though i had a ps1.
The first time i HEARD OF any oddworld games was at 9, but I didn't play it, i just saw my friend playing MO.
The first time i played it was at 11, and it was my friends and stranger's wrath...
The first time i GOT a oddworld game was at 12, strangers wrath, but i didn't know 360 didn't support it....
at 13 i finally got a regular xbox and munche's oddysee, and have played it atleast three times a week ever sense.

Well to be fair, the PC games industry had shareware and demos a long time before the console games market. It was only since distribution became cheaper so that discs containing demos were released. Most of those were avaliable only in magazines as well. Demos typically only feature casual gaming, because no one wants to try and turn GTA/Gears of War/Fable into a 10 minute demo. People use trailers for that.

I suppose the DS and PSP have a lot of demos, but only because the filesize is fairly small. No one would download a demo for 4-5gb (probably).

(BTW: It wasn't till I was 21 that I finally cleared AE with 100% save rate)

I've only played Abes Exodous, but I want to get AO, MO, ME, and SR, although my PS1 isn't in a good condition, does anyone think that it's worth it to buy a new PS1 and buy an X-box just to play these games? Also does anyone know were to find a PS1 in good condition?

you'll have a job getting Munch's Exoddus (if thats what you mean by ME) because it doesnt exist on the market.
