My game was crashing in Paramonia where you last possess the sligs at the end of the level. I managed to save it during the crash somehow- bad idea. Whenever I load that save, for the first life elum is completely frakked. He doesn't flinched when you get on him, he glides along the ground instead of running and doesn't stop, often with Abe facing the wrong way, or leaving him floating in the air behind, he is unresponsive to Gamespeak and randomly falls through the floor to his (and your) death.

Maybe when the Mud falls through the trap door he's not supposed to be there and it just automadicly counts as a death?

Question Abe's Exoddus - Wierdest Glitch

The strangest thing happened the other day. I was in Slig Barracks, part 2 of Block 4, and when I pressed the Circle button to get out a grenade to throw, one of 3 things happened:

1. Abe disappeared and was replaced with a square of pixelated mess, the grenade deactivated, and I couldn't move Abe at all.

2. Same as above, but then the grenade blew up and I couldn't stop it.

3. The game froze for half a second, and then everything was fine.


Very weird. If I had a screenshot, I'd post it, but I don't.


EDIT: Has anyone mentioned the glitch in Abe's Oddysee that only happens if you use an emulator?
When I get to RuptureFarms II, the ring in Zulag 1 (which reveals a secret passage) is gone, as well as the one at the end of the Board Room. This glitch is so bad that it stops you from finishing the game, and can only be avoided by using the level select cheat.

It is, thats just a comparison between the 2. One with the slig, one with abey. I cant get there with Abe any more, but for the slig you get 2 steps away then run and walk at the wall.
How did you get there with Abe?

I know you don't remember exactly, but did you roll? run? walk?

I'm going to do some testing for my speedrun.

I found a scrapglitch from AO. I saw when the scrap went throught that wall and didn't came back even if Abe was standing on same stage for a minute. I dunno why it did this... Note: The image shows only the place and the wall, and can't prov the glitch.

There's a glitch which I found that makes the boulder disappear in Paramonian Temple.
The boulder which chases you as you near the lever. This saves a lot of time.

This glitch and others are exploited in my 'perfect speedrun':

Disappearing Spirit Rings Video?

Do you normally lose spirit rings if you do this:

I know in PC version you do not lose it. But it seems in PSX version you do lose it.

Can someone test this?

I found a graphical clitch in the intro! Watch this in point 1:07-1:08. See the background walls behind Abe? That two have exactly the same texture! I was shocked when I realized that OI has done such a mistake :P

The other walls are unique.

Oddworld Game Glitches(V2)

I've decided to reimmerse myself in this forum with a good-ole fashion Glitch thread.

Spirrow's glitches:

Long falls:
In AE (PS version), I found it somewhat ammusing and useful to use the infinite health(?) cheat to stay alive. But one particularly useful glitch when the code is activated (in Slig Barracks) is to jump a chasm and smack into a wall causing Abe to fall back and land on his back on the main floor, about two screens below and simply get up. Normally such a fall would kill him, cheat of not, but apparently not when done the way described above.

What about you.

The previous and only Glitches thread was still on the first page, so they are now merged. Well glitched all the same. This comes in very handy throughout AE, although I can’t off the top of my head recall where in Slig Barracks this would be particularly useful.

Edit:
It's been a while since I played AE, but there was one section that had a number a pulleys and platforms and I believe if you walk into a screen on the left you'd find trapdoor-like platfoms with mines next to them, that when the open and close, make a sort of rythym-like tick-tock sound while mudokon are all depressed beneath.

I considered that why the mudokon were so depressed.

Long ago I was playing AE and I was using the invincibility cheat... I reached some Greeters and they tried to zap Abe but he couldn't die, but the laser hit him anyway and Abe became invisible XD He wasn't really invisible because the Mudokons, the Sligs, the Slogs, ect could see him, but I couldn't see him XD

Yeah I love doing that glitch abe is now! xD

I don't know if I said anything about this one but in AO at the beginning of the Stockyards Abe ran and jumped over the gap with those three stupid red bombs but right when he was about to land he disappeared!
I kept pressing buttons but nothing happend...it still had the music playing o__O
I don't remember if he ever came back. xD So I had to turn it off then back on.

In a AO's secret area (I don't remember in wich level) I made some Mudokons disappear XD I don't remember how I could do it, but I got angry because I was going to save all the Mudokons!

That not a glitch. The texture is so vague you really wouldn'y look twice.
I've noticed it tons of times.

Once in AO (PS) I jumped through a bird portal I wasn't meant to go through and the game didn't crash but abe wasn't there so I had to reset.

Also in MO (GBA) I carried a mudokon off a small ledge abe dropped him as usual but the mudokon fell through the floor and I couldn't finish the level.

Once in AO I was sneaking with a mudokon following and he didnt stop and fell down a pit for a rope elavator. I went down to find him and he was running back and forth and then then the "fall from high place" death animation started.
