GOG.com today sent me a press release stating that
Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee is now available for download from GOG.com (that’s ‘Good Old Games’, apparently), a digital distribution channel that focuses on making sure the games they sell are DRM-free. This version of AO is fully playable on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
The advantage of getting AO from GOG.com rather than Steam or eBay is that once you purchase the game from GOG.com you have access to freely downloadable content, which is supposedly:
- manual (28 pages)
- map (series)
- mp3 soundtrack
- hi-res wallpaper pack (6)
- hi-res wallpapers pack (6)
- avatars
- desktop theme
So, to anyone who has yet to acquire these classic titles for your PC, I strongly recommend you do so now.
I am wondering whether ‘map (series)’ refers to the Oddworld map, or something new.
p.s.
Abe’s Exoddus is now also available with the following bonuses:
- manual (57 pages)
- map (series)
- hi-res wallpapers (2)
- hi-res wallpapers pack (6)
- hi-res series wallpapers 2(6)
- avatars
