“Thank the Odd!” uttered by a thirsty Mudokon seems to suggest that, yes, Odd is some kind of Oddworld parody of God. However, the extended version, “Great Mother Odd”, sheds more light on its nature.
The Shaman screaches “Mother of Odd”. I don't know whether that's the mother of the god Odd, as a parody of “Mother of Jesus”, or whether it's Odd itself, the mother of all things that are odd.
Grubbs are kinds of animists, believing that nature has spirits, just like the Native Americans believed. They also believe in the Great Spirit, which could be the Grubb version of the Mudokons' Great Mother Odd.
