Ne-hahahaha! Suspence! Don't ya just love it?

Those tounges were way too big for confort. And to think they were sold as pets!
I thought about that, and realised how painful it would be for the owner.
I smiled inwardly.
Outwardly (and inwardly as well) I was terrified, and anyway, my mouth isn't made for smiling.
All sides of me there were fleeches. I wished I had shred power just then.
One flited it's toung at me, and got it's target.
I expected acid or numming stuff, but it was just sticky. Very sticky, however. And the fleech has two very muscular tounges.
I felt myself being pulled towards it, and dug my four toes into the ground. They felt like they would snap in a matter of seconds. I needed to get away, but how?
What would make a fleech let go?
I don't know why I did it, but im glad of it to this day.
I jumped strait at the fleech, and landed on it.
I have very pointy toes, and the fleech probably didn't feel it.
It probably didn't feel anything after that.
I ran from the others, and to a lever.
I turned, and saw something.
I was juist struggling on a giant dish.
I pulled a lever with my mouth, and I heard a thump, a hissssssss, a fwroom! and a sissling behind me.
I turned, and saw the dish was in flames, and stone slabs had surronded it.
I walked on for a while and then went into a doorway.
I heard it slam behind me.
I later came out into the room with doors in it, but now two were closed.
And the one I had just exited had a lit flame above it.

There. Keep replying.

Edit: I just looked through it. I admit, it doesn't look do good. I'll try better next time.

Happy Thanks

Ok, not so many I's this time.

I looked at the flame, and then noticed something elce. One of the six dishes above the central door had a flame on it, too. I decided to enter another door, just next to it.

Flintlocks: 1

When I exited the passage, I noticed that I was aparently safe from danger, exept for maybe a dangerous drop, but I wasn't that stupid.
What I noticed past the drop was that there was another floor further off, with scrabs on it. They were pacing in their small parts of it, seperated by slabs of rocks on thin parts. There were also several levers.
Ahead of me, there was a well, reaching to the other side where the scrabs were.
I looked carefully, and noted everything on the other platform, before entering the well.
I came out on an elevated rock, jutting out from a wall. below me was a scrab. It paced under me and out towards a well that I suspected would lead me to the next segment.
Just as the scrab walked just below me, I jumped.
Or was about to.
I remembered what happened outside the temple, when I heard another voice inside me. It was simple but strong. It had tried to get me to fight the scrab, and was very hard to control.
While I had thought this, the scrab was out from under the ledge, and heading away from me. So I needed to wait a bit for the scrab to get back under.
When it was, I actualy did jump, totaly prepaired.
Scrab! There is no scrab!
TurThere is no need tHowlWe don't need to howl!
I howled, and with a paramite voicebox it was painful.
Charge! No, do...
I realised I was heading towards the well still.
Yes! Yes, do charge!
My scrab instinc was satisfied, if tricked, and charged into the well.
When I came out there was another scrab behind me, and I began running.
Into a wall.
I stoped, skided, and turned before I hit it.
The scrab in front of me howled. I was so suprised about the wall that I howled back. It hurt.
There was no escape point, exept for the well behind the scrab.
The scrab itself charged at me.

More suspence! Hah!
I hope that that is beter.

It had better look intresting!

As the scrab was charging at me, I realised I was charging at it as well.
Nonononono! Stop!
But it was too late. The scrab mind was dead set.
Note the italics of dead in that sentince.
Ok. Think...
When you jump in the well: Jump off the ledge when the scrab is under, jump in well, run away from new scrab, pull lever to light torch, enter door while the two scrabs are fighting.
Pull lever.
I looked behind me.
Damn!
I was past the lever, and halfway to the scrab. There was no way that I could have reached back, it was too far, but maybe...
I shot some webbing at the lever, and stoped spining.
The web shot to the lever and stuck. The fact that I was still running pulled the lever, but made me fall over, too.
I heard a click of two stones hitting each other and then a dish above me was alight.
The trobble was that I didn't think I would fall over, and nothing would stop a scrab once a chalenge was accepted.
However, the scrab was still.
Nothing, exept maybe another scrab.
I scrambled to my feet, and looked at the absence of a certain wall that had blocked my path earlier. Instead, there was now an scrab there, angary at the fact that it's now enlarged territory was occupied by another scrab and a half scrab. No place is big enough to hold two dominant scrabs, nevermind...
Well two and a half, but that was irrelivent. Just round it up.
The scrab who had just apeared howled.
Oh, no. Don'thowldon'thowldon'thowl
The scrab I had faced earler howled.
I found that my "inner scrab" found no need to howl. Maybe because in these rare situations, only two at a time ever fight.
Whatever the reason, I creaped towards the door.
When I got there, I turned to see the two scrabs fight.
It was amszingly quick, but also amazingly furious. Every blow was a death blow blocked or dodged. I couldn't see it, but I found I could sort of... hear it. Like a sketchy picture in my ears, when I screached really high-pitched. I think it is a scrab trait, because the scrabs couldn't possibly see thoes strikes, they were too fast for the eyes, and scrab hearing is exelent.
Anyway, when the fight was over in a few seconds, the winner hardly had time to look at me before I was out of there, through the door.

There. It was shorter that this origonal chapter, but it should do.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I was busy with home improvements.

Anyway, I'm still interested in this fic. There still are a few more flints to light, if my memory serves me well. (but it usually never does, so I'm probably wrong.) Don't take too long with the next chapter, okay?

There are four more flintlocks to go. It's not easy, trying to think them up. The next chapter will come soon.

I'm just going to go off and fume at the system. Because no matter how much I write "*" in a message, it's not as sattisfying as actualy swearing. And I'm not going to swear in a message here. I wish I would, but I wont.
Now to explain.
I had a chapter ready for posting, and I lost it. AGAIN.
No words that are not swear words and express my current anger exist.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

I have been truly evil, leaving Exalmex like this. I will now contine, mainly because of Super Munch. Thanks!

When I entered the next room, I heard that it wouldn't be easy. I heard the occasional screech of a scrab, and the ceaseless snoring of some fleeches. The sonoring was echoing from a cave, but the screeching was in this chamber. Two pathes were ahead of me: the before mentioned cave, and an incline. I went up the incline.
I continued for a bit, but not too long. I took my time, too. I was taking it noticing the occasional shrubs that grew just where they would get the most sunlight that filtered through the glassless-
(I have to stop now because something hase terminated unespectedly)

Yay, go Searge!

( I'll probably be interupted in the middle of typing this bit again, so I'm wrighting this now in case it does. So sorry if it stops abruptadly)

- filtered through the glassless windows. I also noticed the large statues outside, of scrabs. It occured to me just how spiritualistic the mudokons were, to make a temple, with statues attached, to wildlife.
I came to the end of the path, and looked down. The scrab I heard through my short time spent in this chamber was walking inside a circle surrounded by rock, and one bit of the ledge I was on.
(It did it again! Sorry)

It happens sometimes to me that the chapters desappear when i write directly in the posts. So i usually use Word.

T-nex, I'm way ahead of yah! Everyone, Enjoy!

The scrab I heard through my short time spent in this chamber was walking inside a circle surrounded by rock, and one bit of the ledge I was on. In the middle of the circle was a lever, which I assumed opened the door on the other side of the ring. If I leaned over the ledge just enough I could see another door, closed. I thought that it was the other mouth of the cave I entered earlier. So I went back.
When I reached the mouth again, I looked inside into the darkness. If I looked closer though, I would see… just there… left a bit… there! See that? Do you know what that is? It’s called more darkness.
I left a web at the mouth of the cave in case I needed to go back. Then I headed in.
It was, believe it or not, dark. My slig mask was not fitted with night vision capabilities, so that was no help. But, if I screeched at just the right pitch, I could “hear” the cave, like a sketch.
I tried it. Then regretted it.
One thing I had heard all through my stay here was the fleech snores. They were so continuous that my ears had blocked them out.
But when you stop hearing them, you notice.
I could see them in my mind. They would have just dropped from their tongues, wondering what had made that noise- no, they didn’t wonder, they heard the sound, and started heading towards where it came from, looking for their new prey.
They screeched. All a slig would hear was a croak, but I heard not only the croak, but the ultrasonic that came with the croak. They were looking for me with their ears.
I could hear what they heard now. It wasn’t nearly as clear as it would be if I had sent them, but it signified that they came closer.
I backed away, following my web. It wasn’t long before I found light, and I was faster that the fleeches.
But fleeches are persistent. They won’t stop chasing until they have me caught on their tongues, pulling me in, my struggling only slowing what was inevitable…
I shook myself mentally. I couldn’t start thinking like that now. I had to work.
Thinking quickly, I laid a strand of sticky web in front of the cave and backed away.
The fleeches came, crawling towards me, getting ready to shoot their tongues at me, when they got caught in my web.
They struggled, but it was no use. Paramite web is one of the strongest substances in Mudos.
When I looked at them struggling there, I felt no pity. They were like me, in the fact that they were also created by Vykkers, but unlike me in the fact that they shouldn’t be in existence.
I thought about that. And realized that maybe I shouldn’t be in existence. I was meant to, wasn’t I?
I decided to think about that later. I wasn’t sure whether or not I should exist. I was sure about the fleeches.
I jumped on them suddenly, skewering them with my pointed legs. Like I said before, they weren’t meant to exist.
But was I?

And this is an actual chapter, so you will actualy need another reply for the next one.

Right, here you go.

What I needed to do was activate the flintlock in this chamber, not worry about whether I was supposed to exist or not. So I headed back into the cave, carefully stepping over my web. Now that the fleeches were gone I could echolocate safely.
Eventually, I made it to the back of the cave. It was pitch black. But I could hear a lever to my right and a stone to my left. The lever had a cone-shaped indent. My arms would fit perfectly into it. So I put my right arm into it.
Suddenly, I could see the ring containing the scrab. But I also saw much more. Not only could I see the flintlock above, or the lever in the center, but also I could through the doorway on the other side of the ring. It leads to the main cavern again. I also saw through the doorway at the other side of the ring, just below the ledge I stood on before, myself, with my arm inside the stone. I could not only look at the scrab and myself, I could look INSIDE them. It was disturbing. I could see my own heart beating blood through my veins, my lungs expand and contract as I breathed, my stomach sloshing and my intestine pulsating to digest the food I had eaten. Most amazing of all, I could see inside both the scrab’s and my mind. Mind, not just brain. The brain is a pinkish-white organ usually inside the head, but the mind is an amazing thing, consisting of thoughts, senses, memories and personalities. Of course, my mind was many times more complex that the scrab’s, but even the scrab’s mind was an amazing thing. I could “see” thoughts running all over the scrab’s brain. I could see the scrab’s need for meat, I could hear what it heard, I could look through its memories to see what it had recently done. If I turned to my mind, I could see my own personality. I could see myself looking at myself looking at myself looking at myself looking at myself… I turned my attention away from that particular detail, as I could see myself struggling. I could see my own instincts and my own sentience both struggling for control over each other...
Something was wrong. I could see it. Inside my brain…
The chip.
That was the chip that was supposed to control me. The one that failed. I could see it so clearly. It was in the wrong place. Off by a millimeter
(Of course, Exalmex didn’t really think “millimeter”, but the oddworldian comparative measurement for a mm. This may be zero point something.) or 2. But my mind was connected to it. The chip that was supposed to make me an unwavering slave made me intelligent enough to want to rebel and escape.
Ironic, isn’t it?
I felt like killing Maylar right then, if it wasn’t for the fact I already had.
But I needed to think. I needed to get past that scrab. The lever next to my body would open the door to the ring. That was all I needed to know.
I pulled my arm out.

Sweet relief! All that information would have eventually overloaded my brain. The disappearance of it felt wonderful.
But I needed to work. I laid down some webbing, A thick layer of it on the floor, enough to get quite stuck in, but not enough to draw the eye to. I then pulled the lever.
The scrab turned towards me. It howled.
Howl.
I howled. I didn’t want to fight it, not yet.
The scrab charged.
Charge.
NO!
I didn’t charge. I was getting better at fighting my instincts.
The scrab ran towards me, gaining speed. I stepped back. It was almost at me when…
SHLUCH!
One of it’s feet got caught in the web, the scrab fell forwards and landed on the beb, unable to get up. It would fight it’s way out of the web eventually, though.
Remembering the scrab’s hunger, I left a chunk of slig meat on the floor of the ring before leaving.
