Haha! Oh my, this is uncanny. The ressemblance is astounding. Actually, they look a lot like Mudokon skulls found in Necrum, too. They're the right colour.
I'm going to post it on my site's news, I think they're very cute.
I believe the story. In fact, I have several Snapdragons living in my garden - I'm serious!
It just struck me that the name Snapdragon might conjure up images of small lizard-like creatures who breathe fire. But a Snapdragon is a plant that has flowers ressembling a dragon's head. If you squeeze the flower at certain parts, it opens up like a dragon's mouth.
That's just plain weird!
I believe it, though. There have been several recorded cases of natural objects looking like something else. The Natural History Museum in London has a stone that looks like a duck, for example. And does anyone remember that bun that looked like Mother Teresa? It caused a minor, though amusing, stir at the time.

There are several other pics in the Fortean Times simulacra category...Stone formations that look like faces...or a knot of branches that look like an animal or so on...
Click on Gallery on the left and check out Simulacra corner...lot of fun.
You know, my parents always have these plants in their garden, and although the flowers fascinated me (I used to make dragon "puppets" out of them when I was very little) I never once noticed what the seed cases looked like... Scary!
