I was being ironic, and I know it is a supposedly lifelong mental disorder which reduces the size of social lobes in the brain while increasing others related to skill. It is indeed possible to get better from, but it is a difficult thing to get better from, like cancer, and many have the disorder their entire lives. Like cancer, large amounts of money and effort are being put towards its eradication, and it is genetic.
Please know I was not being 100% serious there. I deliberately hyperbolize nearly everything I say for reasons which even I am at a loss to explain. But still, autism (or any other mental disorder) isn't something one wants to have, and I would consider anyone who tried to make their child autistic in order to become part of some sick "culture" (no pun intended) to be unworthy of eating apoptotic colon cells.
