I'm finding that as I get older, I'm wanting games with more depth to them. Console games seem to shallow for me... they lack things to do... I much prefer online RPG games where you've got a whole load of items, tasks, tricks, stuff, whatnot to do or collect or make or whatever. That's more my kind of thing.

Half Life 2 was good, but despite all it's advancements it followed a set path that you would inevitably end up following. That's pretty lame really... it's like putting a fast car on railway tracks.

What I like is user customised content, lush atmospheric persistant worlds, complete open endedness, ultimate depth, endless lists of things to do, character progression and improvement, etc. The main problem with games that like to have all these elements is they also like to have major GRIND - which bugs me bigtime, I don't like grind and I believe it is the only thing holding back this form of gaming from becoming the most popular form. I mean, it shouldn't be easy to do everything but it shouldn't take so long that by the time it's done you're a month older and by that time so bored with it that you don't care any more and have lost interest.
