To just jump in and add my two pennorth, I rather like the forums as they are now. While the Industrial design was nice and I can appreciate how much time was spent on it, it was rather too cluttered for my taste. I mean, this is supposed to be a forum, right? For the purpose of sharing ideas etc? What does it matter how many flashy buttons and blinky smilies and so on there are? The more you put onto a page the more distracting it gets (and that's WITHOUT those bloody huge signatures some people allow on some forums - you know the ones, they're about three screens long, and if a person only posts one line of text like "yea lol!!!11"... *pulls at hair*).
This one might be simple, but hey, you can actually READ the content without having to try to pick it out from the background. I suppose that's the one advantage of ezboard, it didn't matter how much you muck about with the backdrop the actual content boxes stayed pretty much the same, ie clean, clear and obvious.
(On a sidenote, I'm still on the Uni server, and the Industrial theme took an age to load up the first times I'd visit the forums some days - and we're on LAN and broadband, so far as I can tell. If we go back to that I'm dreading how long it'd take to load up if/when I finally get net access of my own, since I wouldn't be able to afford anything but the barest minimum of stuff. But that's by the by.)
So yay, this forum style goood - clean, stylish and neat. Keep it keep it! *does puppy eyes*
