Mobile phones
Hello everyone. What do you think of mobile phones? All of my friends have mobile phones and I was thinking of getting one but are not sure. It would be cool to be able to gossip with my friends all the time but sometimes I would not want to be interrupted. I could turn it off though. I know they are popular and wanted to find out other members opinions on them and if they have one.
I also heard that in Japan they have mobile phones that are color and you can play Gameboy style games on them. That would be awesome. The ones my friends have only have things like snake and that on them. |

Hello atuisya. Thank you for the links. It is interesting to see what you have in Japan. I like the Final Fantasy phone strap also. It is very cool.

Yes, if I am right, Japan has these things you connect to your gameboys from your phone, dial someone elses number who has done the same thing and you can battle (in pokemon gold and silver). Awesome.

I really don't like mobile phones, but that's just me. Part of my job is to speak to customers on the phone, and I find it very rude when they have called you for assistance and then a few minutes into the conversation they go and answer their mobile. I remember once a customer done this and he forgot about me and started talking to his friend!!!
Other than that I find them distracting, plus I don't like being called when I am doing something or out. So if someone needs to get in contact with me, they would just have to do so by normal phone or email. The only thing I like about mobile phones is SMS... as you can contact someone if you need to and it isn't really distracting. Oh yeah and they would be handy in emergencies. Oh yeah, I can remember this funny story that I was told when mobile phones were just becoming popular (but still somewhat expensive so not many people had them). Anyway this guy was sitting in a cafe "talking" on his mobile phone. But then all of a sudden his mobile actually started to ring. He was so embarrassed that the phone rang while he was "pretending" to be trendy and have a conversation in public. I wonder if next time he tried that if he remembered to turn his phone off!!! Abe Babe... |
That's funny. It'll be a while before he does that again!

if you can get by without them avoid cellphones like the plague. if you cant then CANCEL your regular phone and get a good plan with lots of minutes and ALWAYS FREE long distance. your money is valuable and you may need it for more gratifying things than an electronic leash.

I agree. The cost of mobile phones is stupid, they charge you 0$ for the phone and make you bankrupt with the costs of calls. It's pathetic.
