Youth guilty of vampire ritual killing

A teenager has been found guilty of murdering his elderly neighbour and drinking her blood in a vampire ritual.

Art student Mathew Hardman, 17, butchered Mabel Leyshon at her home in Llanfairpwll, Anglesey, last November.

He has been jailed for a minimum of 12 years.

The 90-year-old widow's heart was cut out and her blood appeared to have been drunk from a saucepan.

The teenager was said to be obsessed by vampires and killed Mrs Leyshon in a bid to become one of the creatures.

He had denied any involvement in the murder and claimed his alleged fascination with vampires was no more than a "subtle interest".

Hardman was convicted by a unanimous verdict at Mold Crown Court.

After the verdict was reached, trial Mr Justice Richards lifted an order banning his identification.

The 17-year-old wept when the male foreman read out the verdict and his mother shrieked and sobbed in the public gallery.

Judge Mr Justice Richards says all the evidence pointed to the fact Hardman believed he could achieve immortality by killing Mrs Leyshon and drinking her blood.

Ha wanna bet? There was one guy he was about 18 or 19 who would kill people but he didn't drink their blood. He would also drink the blood of meat from the deli isle.

People like that don't need to go to jail, the reason's they do the things they do is because they are not right in the head or are mentally unstable, putting him in jail will not help, but seeing a psychologist would be much more helpful to him than him going to prison.

Surfy I disagree! Yes a physkologist might help him...but prison will disapline him. He might be referred to a metal institution if they think he i ablebodied but not ableminded! Also they would be putting another innocent human being at risk. Where as th policehave guns for protection!

That's my point, i think his better off to go there than prison.

Yeah people tend to see a psychologist, but prisons are good. They break you. What is a psychologist going to do?:

"Okay, let's discuss our feelings. I know if we pull our resourses together, we can achieve our goals because it's the right thing to do! Now, what do you see? Why do you see it?

I agree with Pinky and my dad would b scared if he was in the room with him. But prison they break you!! (my dads a phsycologist!!)

When they break you you become some one good in the society!! not some dumb ass murderer! You must remember in the good old U.S.A this man would be killed!!

It's like discipline. Your child is drop dead spoiled. He's bad. Messed. He breaks your dishes for no reason. You try to talk to him but it doesn't work. (that's like psychology) But if you spank him, he won't do it again because the next time he breaks dishes on purpose, he would get a whipping.

Your not going to tell a crazy person to stop killing someone, it's not going to happen. They might just tell you to be quiet and kill you. You have to allow that crazy person to experience something, so he won't do that crazy crap anymore because if he were to do it again, he would get into serious trouble.

1. I don't exactly know what you mean by 'break' but that doesn't sound like what happens. Most good citizens I know were never 'broken'. I'd say it's the broken people who were the criminals.

3. But if he isn't mentally stable when he's put into prison, how much worse is he going to be when he gets out?
4. They wouldn't be putting anyone at risk as long as the patient was adequitely restrained and there was security. What do you know, there IS security and restraints in secure psychiatric institutes.

Spanking gives children a lot of attention. And attention-seeking is usually why children mis-behave. Spaking them won't help. It also teaches them that it is acceptable to hit other people.
For example, there was a TV programme about spanking children. In one clip, a child hit his mum. His mum then told him not to do it again and then she spanked him. Just wait till they ask "Why can you hit me but I can't hit you?" then tell them why.


Shall I tell you why psychiatric help and rehabilitation is required? It's because if you put a crazy person in prison without psychiatric help they will be worse when they are releated. If they are sent to a secure psychiatric institution the reasons they had for killing or whatever they did will be found out and the psychiatrists will work out a way to ease them into society somehow.

Prison = nasty place, makes people nasty.
Psychiatric institute = not so nasty, makes people better.

yes I ahree but you wold actually show them its wrong where as in the institute he will talk about it and say..oh look another neck to bite. Personally i thinprison isbetter. in the institute u are in a straight jaket in a cell made to talk and take medicine. Were as prison he don't have to do much hejust in a cell! At least he could get visitors!!

2. Yes. If he's naughty he has to go to prison and get free meals, visiotors and a nice bed. There are some people who commit crimes just so that they can go back to prison because they're homeless or poor.

Spanking does not give kids attention and it does not make children mis-bahave. Kids are smart. They will try to control you. Like a kid would cry alot, in order for you to give he/she some candy because they know you will even though you said no. But spanking them, tells them that your in charge and you are not going to allow a kid to rule you. If you don't discipline your kids while they are youg, someone is going to discipline your kids for you. I have a nephew and a neice I know because they are spoiled. Spanking them I believe has improved their behavior because they now know that people are not playing with them and they don't wanna get a spanking so that's embedded into their mind to not hit you or whatever. My neice Tahndi, use to cry alot all night just so you can play with her alll night. We were tired. She cried harder and started to roll on the ground and whine but when my mom hit her, that girl feel asleep because she knows. Spanking It does not teach kids to hit other kids. I mean Gluk, have you ever seen kids get spankings? I think it helps. I haven't seen it. If a kid said "why can't I hit you", then you give them a hardcore deal. Gluk, the girl probably didn't hit the boy hard enough. If you tap them a bit, they would not fear the consequences. Of course You shouldn't abuse your kids or beat them until they are black and blue. You should spank them and after tell them that you love them to let them know that you didn't spank them just to be mean, but you care about them. If you discipline your kids, it means that you truly love your kids.

Prison: Helps, discipline

Psychology: Yeah right, like that person is going to listen? If it makes the person feel better, why do they keep going back to the psychologist?

1. Shall I tell you how to tell a kid 'no'? You say 'no.' If they cry, just ignore them. Simple, no?

2. Anyone who disciplines my children in the way you described is going to jail or hospital for a long time.

5. Think about what it teaches them. Children learn from their parents. If they see their parents hitting people (including themselves) they will think hitting people is acceptable.

7. Take them to boot camp! Like I said, if you can't discipline a kid, someone will because the people out in the world are not your parents and they don't care. That's why disciplining is good, so you will let them now.
