Racial and ethnic jokes
I've always wondered something:Why can people make jokes about white people and why do other races want special treatment? I've had it with all the redneck jokes, calling someone white trash,fishbelly, "the bubba vote",ad nauseaum. Imagine if someone were to do standup like"You can tell you're a chink when..." Black people getting all weird cause I called them black etc. White people, women and golfers are about the only classes you can trash, and even then a gal might slap you with a lawsuit! Plus all this talk of discrimination,don't white people get discriminated against too? Maybe the person just couldn't do a job as well as the next, and they didn't get the job.If you go to school you'll often here the "white man" White man are evil and they screwed the blacks and indians and white man doesn't respect the environment,yadda,yadda,yadda. All it will take is one stiff lawsuit and all of this stupid ****ed up reverse racism will be history!

An indian a black man and a cowboy were sitting around a fire, the indian said once we were many now we are few. the black man said once we is few now we is many, the cowboy said thats because we havent played cowboys and niggers yet. Since when has Racism against white people been okay? I despise Racism in all it's forms. Jokes about Hillbillies aren't about them being White, they're about them being Stupid... ;)
Anyway, I've heard this kind of pathetic reactionary argument too many times, and I'm sick of it. Racism is never okay, not matter how often you try and justify it... Agreed, racism in any form should not be tolerated. period. it actually urks me when one black person calls another black person a 'niggah' and when they try to pull the 'it's because i'm black' card. ...but that's just me i guess. and considering the rough definintion of nigger is an ignorant person it makes me wonder why black people go around calling eachother ignorant, when they claim the biggest battles they have to fight is other races ignorant of the black race..hmmm   |
Frankly, I'm tired of a choice few African Americans putting down white people like there is still so much oppression in the US. Sure, there is some, but that is no justification that other races can complain about ALL white ppl being "oppressive, evil, rich snobs that have such a good life becuase they are white." I have goals and ambitions in life. So why don't you make fun of me? :rolleyes:

good statement, sea rex. Iv been called a cracker by black people before, it didnt bother me, but only reminded me that the jackass couldnt think of any one of my many other terrible traits. My mom often uses the statement "nigger" but only when referring to people who dont have "goals and ambitions" and will not get off their asses and make something of themselves. I dont think that racist or discriminative terms are right, but i also think that people should show some maturity and not be SO affended by little things. I remember that the disney movie "Mr. Magoo" was attemptedly boycotted by people saying that it made fun of deaf people. or when people were pissed off at star wars episode one because that thought that Jar Jar Binks was representing black people. these and many other examples are insane and should be laughed upon for the pure stupidity of people that just have a need to have others feel sorry about them. the whole "niggah" thing is stupid and doesnt make any sense and even proves that black people really dont care THAT MUCH about the word itself. the stupidest racist term ive ever heard is when black people call other black people "white" because they made something of themselves. they worked hard, got out of the ghetto, and now their old friends are pissed off at them because THEY wouldnt do the same. as bad as the people who say the discriminative words are, the people who get angry about a minor, indirected term and scream bloody murder for a bit of cash are just as bad.

Here's an example.
A young white woman was applying at a college (dont remember the name...it was a well known college though). She had excellent grades (straight A student)...yet she was rejected...why? Because she was white and the college wanted to fill the 'minority' requirement set on them by Affirmitive Action. This girl did sue...but I don't remember if I heard of the outcome or not. Now..I am not against helping minorities 'make the grade'...but if they can't score high enough to get into college without the standards being lowered for them, then they shouldn't be allowed in...just like the whites. |

In Rush Hour the black guy (can't remember his name) went up to another black guy and said "Wassup mah nigger" then Jakie Chan said it to the same guy then a big fight broke out, it was funny! I almost liked the joke more than the fight (and I like martial arts fights quite a lot) |
OK, Rettick. I've had it. Your smart, I'm not. Your an expert on everything in the United States of America. Names? I NEVER said that the African Americans who made fun of white ppl are famous. I can name Chris Rock just off the top of my head, though. And I'm not about to watch Def Comedy Jam and memorize every single comedian who speaks ill of a white person. After all, that's how the make their living. And the things I hear on the street are just as disgusting. And oppression? There will ALWAYS be oppression. I was only stating that there isn't as much now as there has been in the past. You don't see "No Colored" signs posted in the windows of local shops anymore. African Americans aren't told where to sit on a bus and they don't have to move for a white person. These are all obvious examples.
And, Rettick, I know my first few sentences are false, becuase you never said any of that. But lately I've been getting a reaaly bad "arrogance vibe" coming from you. Okay I'm not being an "arsehole" or at least im not trying to be i have nothing against black people, i even have a black friend, i agree with surfacing racial jokes are okay as long as no one takes them seriously, i tell racial jokes to my "african american" friend and he thinks their funny he tells me racial jokes i think their funny, but what pisses me off is black people hsting white people because of what are ancestors did, we didnt do it, and white people who have the steoreotype of black people being punk rappers.

Okay, here's my two cents.
I have everthing in me. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. My father is black, my mother is cocasian (sp?), my grandmother is from Kenucky, I have ancestors from Britain, Africa, and America. My step-father is Jewish, my mother is Christian, my father is African-aware (Kwanzaa & stuff), my step-sisters are Canadian, and my step-mother practices Wicken. I am diversly multiracial, but I have completely white skin. At school, there are so many racist jokes, it''s just not funny anymore. We are foreign exchange student central. We have Arabs, Japanese, Mexican, African, and I even think we have a girl who speaks Dutch or something. When a racial jokes is said, at least one person in the room is absolutely offended. People leaving the class for no apparent reason is normal behaviour, and I belive that sometimes it is justified. SOMETIMES. My advice is to not spread racial issues, whether it may be jokes, news, rumours, or any other grotuitous(sp) propaganda AT ALL. And when it is said, walk away calmly. Let people know that you are offended, but simply don't waste any effort against it. People do indeed get the message, but it takes a long time, and when you know someone that does say offensive things regularly, all you have to do is think of how their parents played a role of it all, and you actually feel sad for that person. But when one of the jokes is turned toward you, you feel nothing but pity. If you have the nerve and don't have anything to lose, think of something to say the next time something offensive is recited, and say it when it comes up. In short, don't do anything, or try to make a world of difference in this manner. There ya go. |

There is a great deal of racism at my school. But no one of any race calls me a "cracker" or anything to my face.

I call my friends crackers when we're playing around and stuff. I'll be like, "Cracka!" And I do use the term, "Nigga", but only when I'm playing around with my white friends. I once said it because it was a lyric in a song to one of my black friends and he said, "Dude, don't say that!" So I respected him and didn't say it any more.

I have nothing against black people, and I do not mean to offend anyone by saying, "Nigga." Three of my best friends are black. However, I understand that black people only use it to eachother and do not like white people using it, so I respect that and I don't say it around black people.

While were talking about acceptable names and stuff, do black people like being called Afro Americans? My teacher says that all the time. My pops used to be decked in a 'fro, does that mean he was black when he had one? What do you think when someone say"You can't be black, you have to act like one" I've even heard someone say that tiger woods wasn't a "real" black
