Forgotten game franchises that should be revived?
|
Oddworld.
|
Fuck yeah, Conker.
Also, not really a franchise, but this game desperately needs a sequel. Preferably on a handheld. http://www.jefklak.be/games/Guides/CaptainClaw.jpg Sup 1997 when I got my first PC. |
Look at you, still holding out hope that Rare will make anything but Kinect sports games.
|
I'm still waiting for Banjo-threeie.
|
I'll settle for a port of Conker Live and Reloaded...preferably an uncensored version.
|
There is a rumor floating about that Rare is working on some sort of Banjo 3DS game.
|
Commander Keen!
Then again in this day and age there are plenty of titles out there like it. It did have a certain charm about it back in the day, though - And even today, many people still remember it (for example the enchanting symbols in Minecraft are from Commander Keen, as is the Dopefish which I keep seeing all over the 'net.) |

It's not really forgotten as such but I want to see a new game. I know the UK didn't even get the original but I've played it on a emulator and its such a good series. Maybe more so this. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...d/GexCover.jpg And even though they ain't forgotten I miss the original Spyro and Crash games. A new game in their styles made by their original creators would be fantastic. |
Psychona....oh, wait.... Fallou.... ummm... XCO.. nuh-uh
Ghost Master! I really, really wouldn't mind if they made a sequel. |
Ghost Master was actually pretty good. Still have it for PC.
|
-Tomba
-Alundra -Chrono Trigger / Chrono Cross -Crash Bandicoot (because I consider it dead since the third, except maybe the GBA games) -Spyro the dragon (same thing) -Commander Keen |
Cheetahmen.
|
But there IS a sequel to Cheetahmen (and it might be even better than the first one!)
and a fanremake of the sequel |
Oh sweet Gex! I just bought Gex 1 and 3 off PSN and they're hilarious, unfortunately they don't have Enter the Gecko. Platformers that appeal to adults are rare these days; I'd like to see more games target older audiences with cynical humor instead of just keeping up with this trend of making games "darker and edgier".
|
I remember when Battle Chess was the dog's bollocks.
|
The original Command & Conquer, picking up where Tiberian Sun left off.
|
:
I used to love Gex :fuzmad: |
Wait...What?
I said Gex needs a new game to revive the series? I didn't say I hated it? |
I wasn't being serious, lol!
But anyway a really good idea :) |
:
Anyway I'd like to see Jazz Jackrabbit being picked up again :D I really think that series has the potential of being a very fun and wacky 3D platformer... And the music was just awesome. |
I suddenly want to play Jazz Jackrabbit 2 again.
|
:
Actually it's a fucking brilliant IDEA!!! I know a friend that can't actually run Gex on his pc (since apparently it only runs on some type of emulator (no not psx)) It would definitely be good as an HD game ;) |
Gex 3 was a fucking awesome game. Got that shit on my PS3, kinda wanna play it now.
|
They should bring Simcity back. Oh wait.
Too bad it's being developed by an EA owned Maxis though. Also they are apparently planning to bring it out on consoles, which is worrying to say the least. |
I find every good game sequel being developed by an EA-owned company worrying to say the least
|
Three words:
Little Big Adventure /thread |
:
My submission would be Jet Set Radio (Future). I so goddamn loved every aspect of this game. Maybe the upcoming rerelease on PSN and XBLA will spur more development on the franchise. |
