Fuzzle Guy 11-24-2005 10:48 AM

I'm not meaning to sound like a typical Englishman, but what is thanksgiving?

Nate 11-24-2005 10:58 AM

Happy Turkey-Day as people say here.
Happy Indian-Massacre day as other people say.

Well I missed my chance at my first Thanksgiving this year. I was meant to go my friend Phil's* family but he cancelled me the night before we were going to leave, which was too late to call up any of my other friends. So anyway, I'm stuck in a town in the middle of nowhere while all my friends have scattered around the state and I'm left alone doing homework :crying:

* Certain members will remember that I was already pissed off at Phil for other reasons this week already. Clearly the guy is just not worth it.

Cullen Heath 11-24-2005 10:59 AM

WHAT?!! Your not serious.................................................Right Fuzzle guy?

metroixer 11-24-2005 11:01 AM

That's to bad nate. *Gives you turkey leg*. No one should be left out of the thanksgiving spirit! (Yes I love this holiday).

Oddish 11-24-2005 11:02 AM

Thanksgiving? Huh?

Nate 11-24-2005 11:04 AM

That's a rather naive statement Cullen Heath. Do you really think people in other countries would care about a bunch of fundamentalist pilgrims almost starving in an underdeveloped wasteland?

I'm not too sure why Americans care.

metroixer 11-24-2005 11:45 AM

Lol I don't care I just like the food. Hell I ain't even an American citizen!

You are, unless you're an illegal immigrant. *calls immigration office*

metroixer 11-24-2005 01:27 PM

Nope. I was'nt born in America. I never signed any papers. Nope. So what? Illegal immigrant. Sue me. :p

For the Englishmans: Thanksgiving is a holiday where we celebrate the Pilgrims coming to America, killing the natives, and building condos. As such, we eat turkey, which is remeniscent of how our ancestors were really good at killing birds and eating their corpses.

Hooray!

metroixer 11-24-2005 04:26 PM

Oi I just got back from a feast. Big eater I was what with all the fried potatoes and potatoe skins, russian caviar on bread (Our caviar pwns america's), and turkey! Also later tonight i'm gonna have cake! Ahh good feast....

That was a satyrical post. They celebrate the discovery America and a big ol' feast we had with the Indians.

I just got done with Thanksgiving, and it was good, BUT our house was where Thanksgiving was held (for our family) at our house, it was hard work.
Who else held Thanksgiving a their house?

AquaticAmbi 11-24-2005 07:12 PM

Happy (last hour of) turkey day and shtuff, my fellow 'mericans!

Having a significant other is great around the holidays in so many ways... especially the fact that you get twice the amount of food. ^_^

metroixer 11-24-2005 07:15 PM

^ Indeed. Only less than an hour until the greatness is over. I shall count down! Also yes I had thanksgiving at my house also.

Cullen Heath 11-24-2005 07:34 PM

I had ThanksGiving at my house Big Bro Slig. Man I ate about 2 hours ago and Im still stuffed. I ate SO much.

God, just because it is in America doesn't necessarily mean it applys to the rest of the world. :dodgy:

Happy Thanksgiving otherpeoples. Go make some more turkey love.

Nate 11-24-2005 10:04 PM

Heh. Spoke to my friend Phil. Apparently he was forced to clean up and wash dishes for ages. And it wasn't even his house!

Dino 11-25-2005 05:43 AM

What the fuck is thanksgiving?

(yes I know it's already been explained, I just felt like saying that)

Dark Elite_H2 11-25-2005 07:20 AM

Last night was a kill! I din't eat at all yesterday, so I was starved. Next thing you know, I'm so full, I could throw up in the toilet. Plus, the lil' kids kept beatin' up on me. That's why I'm good with kids :p . And I can't believe no one got the pun'kin pie...It's the best thing fer dessert!

Yeah, that's right. We crazy Americans, we're just baaad, baaad, terrible people. And everything Kimon says is completely true. :p
