Chicago Freaks - Character redesigns
I've long considered doing a generic superhero comic. The title is "Chicago Freaks."
Sledge Name: Carl Davids Age: 25 Height: 10' 2'' Weight: 520 Ibs Abilities: Can lift 10 times his own weight. Can leap 3 stories streight up. His skeleton is as strong as steel. Weaknesses: Can't run very fast, and is often forced to go quadropedal, running gorilla style. Sledge is essentially a walking tank, all upper-body and arm strength. Being as tall asnd stocky as he is makes it difficult to fit into society, let alone a size 3x shirt! He was human for maybe 6 minutes of his life before he was injected with genetic material that altered his form. The things that happened to him in his youth stay in his head, and he doesn't allow anyone to ask questions about it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ge_Smaller.jpg Enigma Name: Unknown Age: Undeterminable Height: 6' 5'' Weight: 280 Ibs (body is very dense) Abilities: Body is very pliable, can stretch as far as approx. 150 feet straight out and can reform in the same shape. His protoplasmic body has an adhesive quality to it, allowing him to stick to almost any surface. He can compress his body into a nearly flat surface. Along with stickiness, his outer layer is nearly impervious to damage, be it punches, bullets, or missle fire. He also has an unexplainable knowledge of almost every kind of lock/security system and how to deactivate them, possibly a clue to his past. Weaknesses: Electricity is the only thing that can seriously hurt him. Enigma is just that: an enigma. Nobody knows what he is or where he comes from, just that he was dumped on our planet one night with a wiped memory and no idea as to what happened before that. E is a suprisingly adaptable creature, able to take in information at a very fast rate. He was able to comprehend every single language on the planet from one phrase: "Buddy, are you okay?" He is also suprisingly skilled with any kind of lock, and is able to deactivate or unlock the mechanism with almost instinctive skill. This may be a clue to his life before earth, though the other teammates aren't sure. To call Enigma a "he" would be soley based on "his" personality. The proper term would be "it," since he has no distinguishable reproductive organs. E apparently reproduces through mitosis (or splitting into two seperate beings). This actually occurs later in the series, creating an arch rival: Enigma's cromson-colored clone, "Anomaly." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ma_smaller.jpg |
Like it. :)

Aww....wish I can draw like you, Dipstik... <..>
|
Enigma = cool.
Chicago Phre3ks = kewl IMO lol ^-^ Looks really good. I can picture them in a comic easily. :) |
SWEET idea. I really like it, Dipstikk. Very creative. ;)
And.... are those... moldy weinerz on Sledge's head? :p |
:
*PUS-II, not what your thinking, you sick phreek. |
:
http://www.johnsibbick.com/images/pr...ge/estemm2.jpg And the "boils" are actually scales. |
:
:p I get it now. Looks muy coolio, Dipstikk. :) |
Awesome pics, Dipstikk! Yeah, I think Enigma's the coolest, too. ;)
|
I'd say the Penis' are part of his skull, much like reindeer antlers or elephant tusks.
And yeah nice drawings, I like the story of Enigma and his pics but prefer the Sledge drawing. :) |
You're right, Rich. They are just simplified antlers, or cheek horns. Although, I do wish they didn't look so phallic.
|
 :eeek: That's F#$&'n awesome, Dipstik!
|
Some villains. Write-ups for the others coming soon.
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...eaks/Quill.jpg Quill http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/Theropod.jpg The Terrifying Theropod! http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...aceon_both.jpg The Crimson Crustaceon, AKA Thomas Norman (or, as Neon calls him, "Crabby,") is a war veteran who had his torso blown off by a landmine. His cousin, Terry Norman (Who absolutely loathed him) was in charge of the Weapons and Defense Technology department of Geneticorp (You'll hear that name mentioned a lot), and happened to be in need of a guinea pig for a new type of locomotion, a six-legged "crab-walker" machine. Terry had some of his operatives take his unlucky cousin into a secret facility in Brazil, where he met with Terry and was fitted with the six-legged walking device. After awaking and recovering from the anesthesia, he looked down at the hiddeous metallic device his torso was set into. He tried pulling himself from it, but found that he was physically wired to it. He was then taken to a room in the facility, where he met the head of Geneticorp (name witheld for spoiler reasons). This man promised Thomas that if he brought two very important genetic experiments by the names Sledge and Neon back to him, he would remove the walker. Blinded by false hope, Thomas didn't realize that the harness could never be removed, it was wired to almost everything in him. But still, Thomas gladly agreed, on one small condition: That he get a suit of armor to go with his legs. He is now a walking tank, able to cause large amounts of damage in a short amount of time. He is to be considered extremely dangerous. Note: He is able to remove the armor, just not the legs. And the third hero of the comic, Neon. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...eaks/Neon2.jpg |
Look at them erect jubbies. You and your fleshy lumps of fat, Dipstikk. :p
Quill looks damn menacing. Wouldnt like to feed him at the zoo. Ditto with Theoropod goodness. Crabzor. Crabby rules with an iron claw. He looks like a mixture of iD software and a thooper hero comic. Awesome sheild and mask. :) Oresome work. |
Wow. I like a lot! Obviously, coloured ones would be better but they're all still very good. Well done. :)
|
Took your advice and colored Crabby.
I also renamed him. Crustaceans aren't all that...intimidating. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...aw_noarmor.jpg Without his armor http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...er_Smaller.jpg With his armor on http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ru_Smaller.jpg Comparison for clarity http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...w_smalletr.jpg And the version I'll be uploading onto DeviantART. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ge_NubPens.jpg Also, a new villain: Sharpedge. Able to utilize the metal levels in her body. Yes, I know. Boobies. I might give Neon a reduction, though. ...Probably not. |
Your artwork never ceases to amaze me. :)
The pallet for the armor is really great. The turquoise light on the legs gives a very dark industrial look. And the turquoise on the face neon, and gives a submerged, underwater type approach. <3 Hammer Claw Crabby. HE R TEH BIG KRABZORZ ^_^ |
Hehe, I like him. He looks like a mix of Shrek, Hulk and my father! :D |
Nice, nice nice!! They're all awesome, Dipstikk! "Crabby" is my favorite bad guy-he's just so intimidating-looking and the art is so detailed on him! Great work! :D
|
Man, I dunno how, but Crabby looks like he just escaped from one of those Spiderman comics.:p
*stares* Woo! Those're Great Dippy! I don't even need to say "keep it up". You always do.:D |
:
Haha! It's funny you should mention that. He is greatly based on The Rhino, one of Spidey's villains. Also, I suppose you could toss in Ock, since they both use mechanical devices/weaponry that's wired/fused to their bodies. |
Neon
Name: Brook Charmaine Age: 25 Height: 5' 9'' Weight: 140 Ibs Powers: Emits a glowing energy from her body that can be used as either a blast or to levitate. The energy also increases her strength. Weakness: She can overuse her energy, causing it to deplete easily. She has to be careful to use it sparingly, or it can drain her. The energy also builds up over time if she doesn't use it, so in times of inactivity, she has to release it. This is done by emitting the energy in a smoke-like form from her mouth, like a smokestack. Brook Charmaine's blood was replaced with a glowing green energy when she was only 14, as an expiramental way to cure a terminal illness. This not only worked, but to Brook's amazement, allowed her to manipuilate the energy in amazing ways. She soon discovered that she could uproot a tree with little effort at all, shoot the energy from her fingers, and use it as a means to levitate. But knowing all too well that her powers would cause more trouble for her than any person needed, she kept them a secret for nearly 10 years. The only thing she ever did in that time that was related to her powers was release her energy when it would build up. One day, she was walking home from a grocery store, and saw an old lady being mugged in an ally. The sight of this made her realize that using her powers could be used to help the community. She concentrated the energy to her finger and gave the thief a taste of good justice. Brook Charmaine donned the nickname, "Neon" and became a vigilante, protecting the citizens of Chicago whenever there was trouble. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...on_smaller.jpg Theropod inked http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...od_smaller.jpg |
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...aks/Quill2.jpg
Quill Name: Unknown Age: Undeterminable (he is suspected to be in his 20's if he ages like humans) Height: 10 feet, 12 when standing bipedal Weight: 498 Ibs Powers: Super-thick skin, Able to launch his spines and regrow them at a rapid rate, extremely strong. Much faster than Sledge. Weaknesses: Mentally slow. Quill is somehow related to Sledge, though it's not clear how. One thing that is certain is that they were both created in the same facility. |
I must admit, Neon's info seems very original. Cool.:)
And um, :
|
Ha, yes. Thanks for catching that for me, Tripple B. :D
|
 HOLY COW! Those are...friggen cool, Dipstikk! Especially the lizard-like thingy at the bottom of Brook. Keep it comin', bud!
|
Haha, thanks. That's not a lizard, though. He's a dinosaur/human hybrid.
Here he is, colored. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...red_bigger.jpg Bah, Photobucket and it's resizing system can suck my stubby rooster. |
I love dinosaurs, ever since I was 4. It's awesome, Dipstikk! Can I have it? ;)
|
Neon colored- With energy

Wowzor! The colours are great. The green gives a magical esque look to it. But still with the nipples. :p
The theropod is nice also. :D |
