I'm been making a Rupture Farms Capture the Flag map for Team Fortress 2 using the hammer tool :D

I think you need to put an empty line between each screenshot as it's something of a trial to tell where one ends and the next begins.

It's okay, the textures are a little repetitive though. I'm liking the line of barrels.

Textures need changing for sure. If this is your first attempt at a map I hope you're reading some tutorials.

I'll give you some constructive criticism (not to be taken badly, to help):

Most of the textures you're using are HL2 textures, now whilst this does create the "dark" or "gritty" feel of RuptureFarms, it doesn't blend in well with TF2. It's fine for now but you also have to think about how it would feel in gameplay terms.

I would recommend either the just as gritty industrial TF2 textures or custom textures to suit the map more. Lower lighting would work wonders for something like this. Otherwise, improve some brushwork and it is getting there.

The lighting could be toned down a bit (more dark setting) but you sure did follow my advice on the textures, looks okay.

I had trouble with the lighting ever since i've started using Hammer. and seeing how this map has a roof. It harder to place and know what brightness is good. i did try a dark feel but that made TF2 Gameplay harder.

I don't suppose you have any tips. oh and i've used Light_Envoment so the skybox if looked at has lighting.

I seriously recommend it for any Online and FPS Fan. Its one of the best online games and it arguably the best Class-based Game.

Plus its really cheap on Steam.

If ya got a alright Computer and internet. its even better. Non-lag TF2 just makes it better. Saddly I have a bit of lag. Sky Broadband isn't the best

bad news guys.

My map fucked up when i made a door...(How odd) Now when i fix or make somthing new it loads up an older version of the map.

so i might have to re-start the map...saddly

I-I feel REALLY bad saying this crashpunk... But for me, Im just not getting that oddworld feel from it.. Something about it makes it seem like it is simply another Tf2 map. I like how you put the barrels and pictures and everything, But I think the only way you will be able to get me to think it was truely odd would probably have to be... Try basing it off of real game scenes, like putting the Huge Deep rooms, Or even The outside of it!

I completely understand. but the problem is that i have to stick with the TF2 Materials and textures like Chubfish said and after all. it is another TF2 map.

But I am working on ways to improve the feel of it. after all, its only V1.0 and in its alpha stage.

That's not to say that the idea can't work, it's just that it'd need a lot of work for it to be good. While the map might so far be good for a more realistic FPS, I don't think it'd feel right in TF2.

Thats the challenge I'm facing. however your point about TF2 not being the right game is understandable. i have plans to make one for HL2: Deathmatch and even Counter-Strike.

plus i'm trying to make Rupture Farms dark with a TF2 art-style. Even though TF2 is Cartoony, It still can be made dark and gritty

also I'm making new textures that look like rupture farms but in the TF2 Art-style.
