The beings of power have decided that the forums are in need of change. That, and we thought it'd be fun to fuck with you guys. On to the changes!

Demotions
Due to the waning activity of some of the Oddworld Forums' Staff, I believe it is time to let them go - gently, of course. I had originally proposed to replace one, rather than just demote, but it was decided that it wasn't necessary due to the current overall forum activity.

Zulag Two

• Rich - Rich had been the Zulag Two Super Moderator for longer than I can remember, and back in his heyday was a top notch member of staff. It's a shame to see him gradually fade away, but our lives have a funny way of taking over as we get older. Thank you for the time and effort you put in, Rich.

Fan Corner

• Al the Vykker - A dedicated member who's seen Fan Corner go through many many Moderators in his time. I hope you do well with your psychology degree and don't forget to check in from time to time - if not merely to post more pictures of yourself so Max can reach orgasm ;)

Sponsorship
After many years waiting, and numerous sexual favours later, The Oddworld Library has at last been granted Oddworld Forums' sponsorship. In other words, we are endorsing TOL as a promoter and official supporter. It allows them to do all sorts of things that I can't think of. Please welcome TOL to the OWF in her newly created and over-hyped W&B thread!

Owners & Administrators
To complement TOL's addition to sponsorship, Max the Mug has been promoted to Administrator. So has Nate. In fact, we decided to go completely overboard with the promotions: Abe Babe and I are now Oddworld Forums Owners!

Besides Max, these promotions are purely cosmetic. Abe Babe, Nate and I all retain the same powers and responsibilities as before. But Max joins Nate as an Administrator to manage all forums, and all members. We have decided to drop the position of Global Moderator as in this instance, it was more practical to move Nate and Max into the Administrators role - as they are practically the same thing.

Having discarded much of the reasoning in Alcar's post as "filler," I'm going to assume that it was all down to the power of gradient signature demands.

Encouraged by the 100% success rate thus observed, I have begun an experiment to test its effectiveness before using it for my own ulterior motives.

So, Max the Admin, keep in touch in regards to a possible and generous donation of a South American camelid in the near future from sources unknown. I could be on the verge of a ground breaking discovery.

Abe Babe? Isn't she like, inactive or something? I've never seen her post here before RECENTLY.

Anyway big gratz to Max and Nate.

She's inactive yes but next to Sydney THE most important member this board knows. So a little respect wouldn't hurt. Besides I think she's still paying for part of the server hosting.

Abe Babe is indeed still a part of the forums, and I don't foresee an end to that. And you are correct, she still pays part of the total costs.

Seems a bit weird to me that she still is. Yes, I do understand it's an act of kindness/generosity (kinderosity?) on her part, but if I was paying for something, I'd be damn sure to use it more than once every six months or so.

Meh, but that's just me.

Ten years of being an Oddworld fan, eight years of being a member of the Oddworld Forums, four years as a member of staff, and two years of running the Oddworld Library, and finally I get what I deserve. Cheers, Peter. I promise not to go on a banning spree although you yourself are doomed.

Truth be told, now that I have the responsibility to moderate the Forums in their entirety, I look forward to being perhaps a little more proactive in other parts of OWF. And I won’t be picking on anyone. Not even you, MF.

People should now be aware that you can visit the Oddworld Library via the links that are now at the top of every OWF page in the Native and Industrial themes. The Munch’s Oddysee and Honeybee themes are yet to catch up.

I miss Abebabe... Is she ever going to return?

Abe Babe does pop in now and then, albeit only once or twice a year. She owns and runs the largest Final Fantasy website and forum in the world - which I believe takes up a substantial amount of time.

It's a shame Al's going though. I mean I know he hardly did any moderation any more (still waiting for the results of that fanfiction competition by the way, Al) but he was mod back when I was an angsty n00b (he even threatened to give me a warning once when I got angry cus I didn't know how to post a thread :fuzblink: ) and he's sort of been part of the furniture.
Now I'll have to find someone new to put my feet up on.

Can I ask something about mods? Now Rich and Al the Vykker aren't mods. So, do we need new moderators? When will a member become moderator next time?

There are no current plans to expand the moderator team as many of us feel we are over subscribed anyway

Hobo is correct, at the current time there is no need to appoint more Moderators.

Rest assured, I'm sure in the future when Citizen Siege picks up pace that we'll need more staff to handle the influx - not too mention the additional forums. I did say that about Stranger's Wrath, though :(

We did get a short burst of new members, was quite exiting, it didn't get enough publicity though.

Sadly my long and intense talks with Max Clifford came to nothing. :(

Publicity? The only way you can find this place is by searching for 'Oddworld Forums' or looking through the site of a game franchise that most people have forgotten ever existed.

P.S. That's how I found OWF that is.

You don’t have to search for ‘Oddworld Forums’. Searching for just ‘Oddworld’ pulls up OWF as the fifth result. OWW is sixth, OWU is eighth, TOL is—hang on—twenty‐fifth. :(

Not to piss off the people who loved her when she was here but isn't it about time we removed the name of Abe Babe from these forums? I've only seen about four posts from her in the past five years.

Depends. Domain names are renewed anywhere from every one to five years. Then there's the annual vBulletin license renewal (seperate to the once-off payment at the beginning of the license) and then there's the monthly hosting costs.

It's not a huge amount of money. I can still comfortably feed my many addictions with all the other cash I have left over.
