I dont hate the 'Box' because I cant afford it, I cant afford a Ps2 right now, and I defenitly dont hate THAT. The reason why I dislike the Xbox is because of it's ME-TOO attitude. Companies like Nintendo and Sony and Sega were all we needed to satisfy our gaming needs. Microsoft could have done fine with it's monopoly on computers, and making COMPUTER games. As far as I can see, they wont be making any big strides in gaming or innovations. I work in a ToysRus and I have watched the teaser video many, many times, and I dont really see anything I already havent seen before. But games like ICO and Kenetica and the upcoming MGS2 and Devil May Cry all are very good, innovative games. The Xbox is just: 1. Stealing game from the competition using its billions, and 2. recycling computer games for use on itself. And to me the new Oddworld game was an example of the former.

But your latest posts have said to me that you are pro X-Box all the way as you seem to vigeriously defend it whenever some one states their opinion about it. You are starting to be very mean sounding to other forum members and I don't like it. So what if people have different opinions about the X-Box? Its part of life. State your facts and let them decide, you don't have to be mean about it. Yes I am guessing you are just getting tired of all the X-Box bashing...heck I am sick of the near constant console bashing going around. To me all the console bashing is senseless...as it (as Mr. Boj stated in a different topic on this subject) is the quality of the games that should matter...not which console they will be on. You bet I'm pro XBOX. All the way. But that does not mean the other machines are not part of my gaming life. You don't see me bashing and being negative towards the other machines for any reason.
But when something I do care for whatever it is XBOX or anything else,gets attacked, I'll stand up for my beliefs and will not go the path of "Turn the other cheek". The person that started this topic knew what they were doing, it's probably the same person who started the other Oddworld thrashing thread. Hey Ron_Rancor: Fasten your seatbelt. News will be hitting on these two games in March and April. They are XBOX exclusives.I will just tell you that they are games with everything next-gen you can imagine. From A.I. to graphics, to effects, animation, atmospheric effects,sound effects, cutscenes,draw distance,lighting and shadows, sets that reach beyond any other ganes ever made by a long shot. Character and creature models of over 25.000 polys, which is far above the top end models of today. Lets say 5 times the models of the top games of this generation. Facial expression's will be taken into consideration,it just goes on and on with these games.
I have playtested and seen concepts and talked shop with the dev's from both games. I will be getting my debugger(XBOX in disguise actually) on Monday, these two games will be coming with it, well actually pieces of these two games. The games are open-ended and 3rd person act/adv games with the originality of Munch the scope of Project Ego and the style of Matrix meets Da'Vinchi. Massive games that promise well over 100 hours of gaming. Well I can go on forever, but I promise to give more details shortly to all interested.I have seen and know of all the top games coming for at least the next two years, yes even the top games still in concept form, these two are the ones to beat. Just keep them in mind. I'll talk,or write to you later. ;) By the way remember this name as well Orchid, if you like Oddworld, get ready for this one. Seems somebody has a little problem.. Look guys, my whole point is, Exclusivity no longer has any import in this day and age. I love VIDEO GAMES, not only the consoles they come out on. BUT, sony and nintendo and sega have already shown their strength. You base all your hopes and dreams for future game playing in a system that for all intents and purposes, doesnt even exist yet, little man. I never said that I didn't like the box because I couldn't afford it, YOU said that. I like the Ps2 because I've played the games, and played the demos for upcoming games. OH YEAH not to get anyone riled up, but you said that munch is coming to XBOX as an exclusive. My 'bullshit' theory goes NOWHERE. I said that first and formost, the reason why didn't like the xbox is cause they paid lots and lots of moolah to the developers of some games(of which microsoft seems to have a near unlimited supply)so they could have them as exclusive. Plus the fact that Oddworld owes thier recognition now to thier two-game stint on the playstation. But whatever, ok? I dont have to waste my time with a closeminded person like you, because their are more contsructive ways to use my time. Go and play your xbox, boy. |
Munch's oddysey should be on both consoles.
It's pretty annoying that they put the 2 games on sony and computer and now there switching to x box. they could at least put it on computer. I don't have anything against the x box. Microsoft is a great company. But munch's oddysey could at least be on the playstation as well. If they made a slightly zoomed version for playstation they could fit a some more pixels in and make a zoomed version to the one on the x box, say if there was a big bro slig on x box and they just made a bigger version on playstation and it would come out just as detailed only bigger and the game could scroll, thats if it doesn't on x box(i have never played it). It's not that I can't afford an X box. I saved more than enough money in my bank account. I would by an X box but my parent's wont let me because I only just bought my PS1. The least oddworld could do is try or even make a short demo. Oddworld owes nothing to Sony. Sony has gotten there cut.
Contracts are honored then people or companies move on to greener pastures, in this case Oddworld went to the green pastures of Microsoft with XBOX, get it Green as in money. ;) Beyond that the XBOX offers more freedom and allows devs such as Oddworld to showcase there talent with it's power. XBOX has proven itself already to many whom have seen and played games first hand, don't speak in an assuming way there Sparky. PS2 and Gamecube are fine machines, it gives more options to play the best and only best. For me extra machines, none the less still very nice options. It's the games not the machines in the end. However in all fairness no one can say XBOX has not yet proven itself.It has, to the ones in the know. The horse power and HDTV, 5.1 Dolby surround sound are a good beginning. The dev's have more to play with, limitations have been cut down for creation purposes due to the horsepower of the BOX. A.I.,Graphics,draw distance,sound,music,effects, atmospheric effects,all vastly improved and possible due to the power. There are exclusives as well that cannot be overlooked. Project EGO and Panzer Dragoon,Munch, sorry but true,Halo,Azurik,Heavens beast,24 automatons,Project Gotham,and more you know that already. Do not forget the Matrix,Kleaners,Orchid,Enclave, and Malice. Sure to come to the other machines, but with that extra power and extras such as HDTV and 5.1 Dolby surround sound those games will be better on the XBOX,due to it's inherit advantages, just a fact. If Atari for example came out with something more powerfull I would back it. It's the games sure, but the power help those games be more of an epic,just plain and simple. Even MGS2, when it does hit on XBOX, wait and see the difference. I have seen it, and the reason it's not talked of yet is because Sony wants to sell PS2 versions this Fall, if they show the XBOX version they will lose a good chunk of the change this Fall on PS2. I can name another 10 games I have seen that will come on XBOX in the next 18 months, both already past pre-production and others in Concept stages that would be better than anything out thus far. The reason for such optimism is that I have seen and playtested these games, I have had in-depth conversations with the dev's, very talented people whom now are more free to put together better and more complex games in all around facets.... due to the XBOX power, bottomline it is the power. Anyways, Back to my Debugger, XBOX eXXXXclusives Heavens beast and 24 Automatons are waiting. Now Impala stop being a girlyman, and get the XBOX to be one of your three systems. PS2 wasn't out when I bought my ps1 this year plus I have to save more money for when im older. I don't wan't to be a street bum by spending all my money on new consoles and ps1 has a portable lcd screen that you can buy seperately. Ps1 would be the most potable console besides the gameboy.

I don't want to get in the middle of a console war... but most of you may be too young to remember when Sony joined the console market. When they did though they were the "outsiders" ... as Xbox/Microsoft are now. People said that Sony should stick to televisions and VCRs and stuff like that... that Nintendo and Sega were the ones that made the console industry.
I just thought I'd mention that... because from there, look at where Sony is now. And perhaps Xbox will be there in years time too. They need to be given a chance... too many people are condoning them as a failure. Although I think the Xbox will go well (own opinion), Dragadon has a good view in waiting to see what it will be like before saying yay or nay. Oh... and BTW... there is nothing wrong w/ the good 'ol PSOne! :) I don't have any next gen consoles at the moment... and my PSOne is cool... it has my favorite games like Oddworld and FF on it. I'll end up with a Xbox and a PS2 by this time net year, but the PSOne will still have it's uses. Graphics are always good, but I look for gameplay more than anything in a game... an many PSOne games have just that. Thanks very much, but you too are point blank wrong. Read the whole topic, and tell me where I knock consoles, go ahead, don't come with that weak complaint with no justification at your benefit. Someone came here and attacked, I then responded. That someone created a console war. I have never taken sides. I have always stated get all the consoles. And yes I can say this with all positivity and 100% assurance the XBOX will be "MY" favorite system. But I still will have fun with PS2 and Gamecube. And rettick it's not fair to assume and judge with false pretense's, to dirty up my name with unjust lies. I have only backed Oddworld and XBOX. You Rettick are the only one of the two of us that has put any console down, don't believe me, read your comment above.
