does anyone know a good FREE website editor for making an oddworld fansite? Am I allowed to make one?

where can I find this fankit? is it free? can you make banners at the top of the screen to direct you to the home page? And if you can my banner's writing looks crap how can I sort it out?

Go use google to find out how you can make good websites. You sure you want to be doing this? You obviously don't have a clue about what your doing O.o

Um... But if you wanna make a fansite using the fankit and stuff, you should have some knowledge in picture-editing. Also it's much better if you use HTML instead of some editor, but i'm quite sure that there are free html-editing programs out there. But i dnt know where you could host it. Maybe geocities or something.

If you need to use a website editor, then no, you don't know what you're doing.

I suggest you visit w3schools (use google to find the address, I can't be bothered) and learn how to write HTML. Use notepad, and rename the file extentions from .txt to .htm to convert them once you've finished writing the code.

Also you might want to find yourself a free website host with FTP capability, and learn how to use an FTP client so that you can upload your completed website onto the server space and consequently make it available to the rest of the internet.

Then, you might want to find yourself some Oddworld fonts. Download the Oddworld Fankit from the Oddworld Inhabitants website (if it's still there), and that'll give you most of what you need.

However, you'll probably find that your site gets little to no traffic, due to the fact that oddworld is ancient history in most people's minds, and will be until the movie comes out. Even then your site will still get very little traffic unless you're prepared to dig deep and buy yourself a top-spot on Google's search engine, but I get the sense that you don't want to spend any money, so I guess that's out of the question.

Now, if you still want to try making a website, be my guest, go ahead, don't let me discourage you at all. But my advice to you is that since you've got the level of website building knowledge that you do (E.G. none), you should educate yourself on website building before you go crashing right into it and lose enthusiasm in a sea of complicated stuff that you don't understand and can't use as a result.

Yes, you know what it is, but can you actually do it? Can you write HTML code without having to look up what to do? Pretending to know what you're doing won't get you any closer to getting a website up and running, believe me.

Seriously, go to the W3schools site and learn what to do, you'll be able to create much better websites than any shitty website creator program can once you've mastered HTML, and you'll also be able to edit them and troubleshoot errors much more easily and efficiently.

i'm not pretending ok? I know how to do html my cousin showed me how and I'm just gonna see the tutorials bye ppl! Sorry if I annoyed any of u!

Well I don't think anyone is saying that he shouldn't build a website or that they're not useful. Or at least that's not what I'm trying to do. Discouraging someone from building a website isn't a good thing to do in my opinion... if someone wants to do it then they should be given advice to encourage them. Lots of people dive headfirst into the world of website building and find themselves giving up because they just don't understand what it all means and don't know what to do. If I wanted to discourage him I'd just leave him to it and without any kind of help he'd soon give up on his own. Unless of course he takes the initiative to look it up himself, if he's really detirmined, but that's not the point.

It is an awful way to miss something that could potentially turn out to be a career or hobby, to give up while trying to do it because you don't know exactly what you're supposed to do and how you're supposed to do it. All it takes is a being pointed in the right direction.

Yes I know but what I'm trying to say is if you learned how to do the HTML yourself then you wouldn't have to use a website editor... you see?

I always use geocities. You can have an editor on there or use HTML.
