Wow When your finished you should send them the finished game via Email and see what they think.

moxco 06-15-2009 12:53 PM

ML would be Matt Lee.

joshkrz 06-15-2009 12:56 PM

I know, it came up next to his email. Does he work on the games or is he just a web master?

That email is an exact copy & paste of what he sent to me.

SpAM_CAN 06-15-2009 01:05 PM

Wow, this is really good. Much better than that point-n-click abomination. Abe with Munch's voice made me die a little inside.

But hey, even in early stages, this looks awesome.

joshkrz 06-15-2009 01:07 PM

Yerh I have played that one. You can tell they didn't know how to use flash. And the click points were put in the crappiest places.

The official demo of this game will be coming soon, in about a months time, keep subscribed ;)

Thanks.

By the way, welcome to the forums.

SpAM_CAN 06-15-2009 01:17 PM

Thanks!

I was considering making a flash thing for oddworld... then I saw what you have done and realized - I cannot code to save my life XD

joshkrz 06-15-2009 01:21 PM

Can you use flash? Are you good at animating or flash "stuff"? As you probably noticed this game is, what I like to call "Forum Interactive", where anyone can help out.

SpAM_CAN 06-15-2009 01:44 PM

I can animate, did a little oddworld thing a while ago, will have to dig it out.
I would love to help! What kind of things do you need...?

joshkrz 06-15-2009 01:51 PM

Well most things I need I've got. If you can animate then the special effects such as explosions can do with a bit more of an Oddworld feel to it. If you have anything you would like to do, then ask and I might be able to sort that out.

Rampage48 06-15-2009 05:47 PM

Good news guys: The storyline is going very smooth. Even though i have many other things on my time, The storyline is my top priority.

Could I get a copy of that sometime? Since I plan on making the cut-scenes an idea of the storyline would help start the ball rolling. That way by the time we need it the ball will be going very very fast... :D

BlackVenom 06-15-2009 11:18 PM

I'll be needing it too. I've actually had to halt making scenes over the last few days so I could make them in line with the story so, If you can, send over your current progress on it and make sure it won't be changing later on so make any final changes now.

STM 06-16-2009 08:24 AM

i can help a wee bit im good wit hpublishing and stuff and im good with legal requirments maybe a bit of actual gamemaking aswell

joshkrz 06-16-2009 09:17 AM

STM, I thought you were making your own game, wouldn't you want to finish that? If not, then what can you offer us? PM me.

Nice one Rampage, Carnix and BlackVenom will need that story along with me. Ill PM you today sometime.

Rampage48 06-16-2009 10:43 AM

Ok just let me Fix it up a bit more. as soon as im done ill send it to you guys.

SpAM_CAN 06-16-2009 12:55 PM

Yeah the storyline would help in the exploding of things... yeeeah...

joshkrz 06-16-2009 12:57 PM

That's exactly reason why you don't need it, plus I haven't seen your work yet and your not just making things blow up.

Hmm I reckon we need more graphic shown.... Blackvenom or Carnix, if you agree IM me what we should post.

SpAM_CAN 06-16-2009 01:21 PM

I like to follow the crowd :)

Umm...

joshkrz 06-17-2009 05:30 AM

If you knew me well, you would know not to believe that first statement. Anyway Carnix what do you think?

Anyway Carnix what do you think?

You never seen a stand-up comedian before? Asking what a guy is thinking is just silly...

I think we should wait until we got some more stuff in there then put up a few screen-shots before the release of the demo, nothing is really needed just yet.

But perhaps you should be asking what your fans want to see...

joshkrz 06-17-2009 05:46 AM

OK no problem, I just hate keeping people waiting :D

BlackVenom 06-17-2009 05:53 AM

Well, All I got to say is that if things go according to all of our plans, This will actually be a great fangame! Almost exact to the originals! (But better of course :p)

Oddey 06-17-2009 06:59 AM

I think the word "better" may be overdoing it a bit. "Great" fits the bill a bit better.

I think that if you just let us know that you are indeed doing something, it's good enough. No spoiling the plot to us either.

Carnix 06-17-2009 07:02 AM

Here's a good question to ask; Would you like to see an opening cinematic in the demo or just have it "out of order"?

For now, leave it at out of order. It is just a demo after all.

I thought the scenes would be arranged out of order when I first saw that. I only just realized it meant the broken kind of out of order.:D

joshkrz 06-17-2009 08:00 AM

That button originally was meant to show AO and AE starting and ending FMV's to show you what happened but I think we should have a starting FMV.

The button will remain out of order on the online version of the game to save bandwidth and slow loading times.

Any objections?

EDIT: Oddey, the demo will not have any FMV to make the game more portable and easy to download.

I object!! :p

Give them an option to turn them off in the options and make it possible to skip but by no means should you release a full-version with no cinematic.

Yes but no matter if the video is played or not, when the game initially loads it loads everything. To load separate things I will need to change the structure of the game. Ill give it a try though.

STM 06-17-2009 09:09 AM
