Possession - PICK ME, PICK ME (At least I think so, I got it ciphered and backwards)

Take a look at what we've discovered, and the the source page's correlation. It feels lik there has been more hints then we knew all along..

All of these puzzles have been correlating back to the source page, or vise versa. It's crazy to see stuff coming together, but there's one I'm unsure of.

Is this about the audio, have I missed something, or have we yet to understand it? This is really interesting though! I'm going to start keeping a close eye on the source page to see if anything changes again.

I tried something similar and got 'There's an echo, but I can hear you'.

I was wondering whether they're just individual responses, or if there might be a chain you can trigger by asking the right questions in sequence? No luck so far, with the 'echo' mention I tried repeating the statement back at them, to no avail.

Also tried Brewmaster and got 'Twice ze Flavor, right?'

I'm going to run lsot.mp3 through some Harmor resampling and iZotope analysis to see if I can find anything.

I typed in "necrum" and got "[OUT OF SIGHT]" as my response.

Also, is it just me, or is the [ERROR] message coming up a lot?

So, do we know all of the ciphers being used for the chatbox? Or only a few?

We have an ongoing table of responses here, though as of right now I think it's missing a couple new ones. We have no idea how many there are in total.

As for cipher, so far most of them have been 13-Caesar, and are sometimes backwards and/or scrambled in addition to being encrypted.

I've taken out the bits of what appear to be morse code and spliced them into one file. I'm not very good at morse code so I will explain what this audio file contains and then someone else can figure it out. I've also EQed out most of the unnecessary frequencies so you can hear the beeps more clearly.

The first clip is the first bit we hear, the second is the same thing but just the right channel and the third is the same again but just the left channel. This is because both channels contain different snippets of code, so I separated them.

After the silence there is another clip, this is the second piece of code we hear, nothing special here.

After that silence, there are two clips. The first is the next piece of code, but it's quite obviously reversed, so what you hear after that is it flipped round. I decided to put both in.

Now the last set of clips are a series of clicks I heard throughout the file, I pitched them up and it seems like they might be some more code. You guys figure it out. I'm actually thinking that last one is the same as the second one.

Now that's intriguing. It's like whatever "person" is trying to contact us is trying a variety of methods to get past...what, exactly? This is getting interesting. Soulstorm's gonna be one helluva game.

The caesar cypher doesn't seem to produce anything meaningful to me :confused:

Looking at Nep's morse code sample a bit further, I took out the supposed duplicates, and this got:

Seems to be a definite pattern to me :) Passing this through the 13-caesar gets 'Y N Y N Y'

Maybe a reference to 'yes/no' computer commands?

Another one changed. "how are you" yields "*** HOW DO YOU THINK? - CAN'T YOU SEE? ***"

I tried "who are you?" but that one hasn't changed...yet.

E: And "where are you?" still won't bring anything up.

Maybe it's just supposed to be 'LA LA LA...', as in a hint that Soulstorm will be at this year's E3 in LA? :goof: I'm clutching at straws here!

Got a gibberish answer the first time, then that, backwards.

Heh, new theory: The guy we're supposedly talking to is the blind Mudokon that Abe accidentally led off a cliff in that one cutscene.

Another generic response is "EB[REE]". This is interesting, because it is an anagram of [REEBE] which is ERROR according to rot13.com

This tells us that we get anagrams as well as +13 ciphers. So, maybe we should go back and take a look at the supposed strings of nonsense and see if there's anything hidden there.

I'm wondering, is Abe saying all of this? And is he maybe subjected to something worse than in the original AE? I feel like from some of these ciphers, maybe he has his eyes sewn shut or something?

Typing in "Abe" results in "ABE?". but if this guy can't remember who he is, then I guess that doesn't confirm things one way or another. But I feel like it wouldn't be Abe stuck in the mine, unless the whole of NnT was retconned.

I have a gut feeling that it's not Abe we're talking to because any time you mention him, the response is "*** ABE? ***" or one of its variants. Who ever this is doesn't seem to know Abe, but then that also goes against a response I got last night.

Yeah, I don't think it's Abe talking to us. Maybe when we get responses with asterisks are this character talking to us, while the ones without the asterisks are just references and jokes?
