I'll be honest. I don't care anymore. I'm tired of trying to find reasons to continue supporting Oddworld Inhabitants. I'm not buying any more buggy graphical upgrades just to have the version with the crap that was removed from the original put back in on a different platform.
Shush, you'll make Wil cry.
Sorry. Not blaming anyone. Just running out of reasons to care.
I’d like to know two things:
I would imagine that the answer to both questions is "not enough people bought it on PS3".
Considering the big-ol'-fix-everything-patch hasn't been released for PS3 yet, it seems like a missed opportunity to leave them out. If the PC version is getting them, then the PS3 version should as well. If not, then it just seems unfair to make them exclusive to PC. The whole point of this venture is to gain a new crop of Oddworld fans, right? This seems like the kind of thing that would alienate half of them.
I understand that isn't your intention, and game development is full of unforeseeable bumps in the road, but this seems like the kind of thing that's just going to cause contention. If you plan on adding them, put them in both versions or not at all. |
They weren't in the original therefore I don't care at all.
I also don't care for move support, I just want the audio fixed so I can play through it again. |
:
I think it's a silly idea to add them to the PC and not the PS3. Well, I think it's a silly idea to add them at all. I'd prefer it if they focused on new things rather than spending time making arbitrary extra tweaks to SW. I say 'arbitrary' because they obviously can't be added in any way that will change the gameplay. |
Is that true; that not many people have bought Stranger's Wrath for PS3, so far?
I totally agree with Sekto Springs here. I understand this is probabluy meant as harmless fun. Did you guys at JAW think this trough? I mean, what do you expect the reaction of PS3 owners will be? Why putting exclusives on some platform and thus alienate the owners of the other platform?
I have to say, I hate it when people add some unnanounced bonus in a new version of the game/cd/dvd. It makes me feel like I missed something by buying it early. |
okay, just to clear things up. If we do end up in a situation where some extra stuff is in one version of the game but not in the other, rest assured that we will work towards making them all equal and the same as soon as is permissible.
:
Not saying that I'm right. |
WELL ALRIGHT THEN STOP YELLING AT ME

OANST IS SUCH A FRAGILE FLOWER

"We spoke with Stewart Gilray of Just Add Water who explains the team worked hard to reduce the game's file size which now sits at a respectable 1.95 GB - nicely under the 2GB limit. To accomplish this they have used modern codecs which cut the 650 MB audio down to just 465 MB all the while offering improvement over the original recordings. They've also reduced the quality of the CGI movies slightly, resulting in a further reduction of 175 MB. Coupled with some additional tweaks to the characters and environments (which are still being worked on we're informed), has resulted in the game being a suitable size for XBLA. What's more Stewart confirms, the game is pretty much identical on both console platforms." Sorry if this is old news but I didn't know JAW worked on reducing the file size. Here's hoping for an XBLA release. |
You ever see that interview Lorne did on Stranger's Wrath multiplayer?
Nope, I haven't. :(
I remember, but I can't find it back. Can you remember anything else about it?
:
^Sounds fimiliar,
Just sayain. |
What exactly could he have added to the SW multiplayer that would evoke that kind of response? Did he replace bullets with flowers?
:
... Wait a minute... Is Stranger's Wrath HD out for PC yet? If not how long will it take from now? |
It's been out on PC for a while.
Whoa, that doesn't sound like him at all. It's really saddening to know that some ignorant comments could deter him from something like that completely.
I'd say.
In the case of OANST vs. The Gullible, OANST is awarded full custody of the lulz.
And Stranger's Wrath HD is not out on PC yet. |
:
It'd be great if the loading time could be decreased when after Stranger dies. It seems a bit unnecessarily long considering the local environment is usually conviniently already loaded in some cases where you die almost instantly. |
:
I'm almost positive that I remember the text quoted by OANST was meant as a prank.
Well duh. It just links back to Wil's post.

lol...

A nice interview with Stew Gilray about the upcoming Stranger updates :) |
It's so weird to read interviews about Oddworld stuff, and actually have some idea of what's going on by the end of it.
How long are you planning on pushing that joke for?
:
What's the B equivalent on Playstation? (Thanks) |

Then you can have it. |
