I'd actually like an honest to god sequel to Strangers Wrath, which might motivate Microsoft to make it backwards compatible. Just add in a smidge more exploration, make it a larger map and have some inclusion of the various important characters/events/locations from the first three.

I'd love to see the seriousness and puzzle like qualities from the previous Oddworld games (apart from MO), it would be cool if it had the similar open style as SW aswell. Like the old Oddworld games, i want to feel like every area an ememy is in is really dangerous, instead of a slig just chasing after you trying to wack you with his baton.
With the power of next gen graphics etc the enviroments would be breathtaking, and they could bring back hiding in the shadows, which they didn't have in MO. Another thing which is a definite thing to include is good music, like in SW... |
I want ME to be HUGE, and include new levels, and creatures to posess. I can't wait to posess Greeters with Munch (if you can do that in ME). I want so much out of the next Oddworld game, that I sometimes forget something that I want to be in it.

Abe in sunglasses isn't such a good idea.

Meechonia probably exists, even though it's not in AO. But Abe will probably never wear sunglasses. It just doesn't fit in with Oddworld.

Hows abouts an Oddworld RTS?
I like those kinds of games and oddworld has a lot of detail to work on for it. |
That's what Hand of Odd is supposed to be.

Glockstars wear sunglasses. :)
![]() Abe will never, ever wear sunglasses. ![]() |
Those Munch sunglasses are bad, very, VERY bad.
Yeah, I don't think I'm the only one who's dissapointed with the direction oddworld is going, I mean, I'd be happier if Glockstars never existed and oddworld went back to it's dark roots, from AO, sure, I liked the humour, but maybe if it was in smaller doses and seperated from abe's journey, owell, I guess it pleases some people and not everyone can be happy. |
A free roaming RPG sounds like a cool idea- as long as we get Abe back, or at least someone familiar, and Gamespeak
|
All right, all right I'm removing sunglasses from my list.

Yes, Paramite Stockyards will probably be playable in Oddworld: Munch’s Exoddus when it is released in 2009, published by Majesco and with FMVs put together by Vanguard Animation.
|
If ME will be released, it wn't be until at least 2012 (certainly not in 2009).
|
You’re right. Possibly even early 2013, probably January or February.
|
Actually January 15th to be exact.

I heard that for one level... MUNCH WEARS A TOP HAT AND MONOCLE

Anyway, for the next game I'd like something where you can roam around freely (like SW) but not so freely that you can get to every part of the game from the start (...like SW). It would be good to bring back the dark atmosphere, and maybe have some nighttime levels where you can hadly see anything and have to be extra carefull. Another thing that would be good would be to have 'real' wounds. For example, if you get shot in the arm you can't use your arm until it gets healed. If you break your leg you limp everywhere. And if you get shot in the head you die instantly, etc. etc. |
I liek your idea Glacier. <3 Free roaming will absolutely rock!
Meech, I really don't think SligStorm was cancelled for that reason y'know... |
:
Does that count? Maybe it does, but it seemed like you were describing Beyond Good & Evil or Legend of Zelda style roamingness, where you can roam freely but obviously can't get to all locations from the beginning. |
I remember reading somewhere that it's the reason SligStorm was canceled. It could've just been someone's opinion, but I think that it's the reason.
|
According to Matt Lee, SligStorm was—at least in part—dropped because the publishers thought no one would want to play as a Slig because they’re so ugly. I suspect a bigger reason was that OWI wanted to move onto bigger things, like the next-gen, added-dimensional Munch.
