Dexter season 3 has recently started airing here (rather late, yankies are up to 4 now aren't they?) and it's still good.

Disgruntled Intern 10-14-2009 09:56 PM

Pretty sure it's season 4, yeah. Season 3 blew. Not as bad as the season with the 'pardon my tits' love interest/villainess/stupid cunt, but bad none the less. The currently airing season is meh.

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic.

For once I actually meant the 'Fun.' part. I love Ugly Betty.

Season 3 is halfway through here. I'm really enjoying it. Not quite as good as Season 1 but lightyears ahead of Season 2.

Disgruntled Intern 10-15-2009 05:12 AM

I hate Jimmy Smits.

Leto 10-15-2009 11:00 AM

I don't quite know why I like the show. I pretty much hate all the characters who aren't Dexter.

Nate 10-15-2009 04:25 PM

I think that's a pretty common reaction though. They're all quite unlikeable.

Though I do have a soft spot for Angel, great dumping numbskull that he is.

I hated the other characters in that show so much that I just stopped watching it. I'ts as if they have one writer who writes for the character of Dexter, and a completely different writer for the other characters. A writer that sucks.

Mac Sirloin 10-16-2009 02:13 PM

I watched Revenge of the Fallen again. Skipped through most of the stupid-ass parts with Sam and I enjoyed it. Megan Fox sucked. The annoying racist robots weren't actually that annoying this time.
Oh, and PM me if you want a download link to it.

I've always thought of him as the token "HEY LET'S HAVE A SUPER SOUTH AMERICAN DUDE ON A COP SHOW" guy.

Fuckin whore.

But it's Miami. Half the characters are Cuban or some other type of Latin-American.

That's what I was going to say. But I still hate him.

Disgruntled Intern 10-17-2009 07:01 AM

Really? We enjoy the hell out of Angel. It's Deb and Laguerda we fucking hate.

OANST 10-17-2009 07:03 AM

I hate them all. Every poorly written, poorly acted one of them. But especially Lundy, that walking fucking cliche.

used:) 10-17-2009 07:09 AM

Even the one mayor dude?

Disgruntled Intern 10-17-2009 07:10 AM

I only liked Lundy because I enjoyed him as Wild Bill on Deadwood. I guess my favor just carried over.

I loved him as Wild Bill. It wasn't his fault that the character was so bad. It was just poorly written.

Fuckin whore.

She wouldn't have pissed me off if they didn't make it seem like she was absolutely vital to the story. Also if her acting wasn't worse than it was in the first movie.

I saw Law Abiding Citizen yesterday. I had to sit in the very front row. To the far left.

It was...good. I guess. I mean, it wasn't bad, but good seems a little too generous. There's a scene where The main character murders his cellmate for no discernable reason. (later on revealed to be because he wanted to go to solitary) and there was more blood than I've ever thought necessary for a scene with a guy eating asparagus.

Also, there was this cop character, assisting Jamie Foxx (Nick). And several times I said something immediately before he did in a completely different scene.

Movie: "WE GOTTA FIND BILL REYNOLDS."
Me to Jordan: "Who's Bill Reynol-"
Cop form the movie:"WHO DA FUCK IS BILL REYNOLDS?"

And
The Cop: "What about his bill of rights?"
Jordan and I: "Fuck his bill of ri-
Nick: "FUCK HIS BILL OF RIGHTS."
Me: "Yea-"
The cop: "YEAH!"

OANST 10-17-2009 08:38 AM

That's Jamie Fox. Not Denzel Washington. Are there so few black people in Canada that they all look the same to you?

Racist.

I saw the Oxford Murders last night. Don't think it's been released in the US yet. I enjoyed it, though I didn't think Elijah Wood was the best choice for the lead role.

OddjobAbe 10-17-2009 01:31 PM

I lost the little respect I had for him when he voiced Spyro in the relatively recent and most mediocre Spyro games. Just like how I lost all respect for Alexander Armstrong when he did a game show.

Strike Witch 10-17-2009 02:08 PM

Man, X-men 3 is a strange movie. It feels like "Cyclops dies, Professor dies, then Bridge battle for two hours".

I dunno.

Mac Sirloin 10-17-2009 04:49 PM

I just got back from Where The Wild Things Are. It was astounding, I'm so glad I went to see it. Do yourself a favor and go see it right now.

Leto 10-17-2009 04:59 PM

I dunno.

Professor X didn't actually die. The look of extreme concentration on his face during his 'death' was due to him transferring his consciousness into his brain-dead twin brother, who he showed to the class/had a moral discussion about earlier in the film. It shows the end result after the credits roll. Duh.

Also, fuck cyclops.

That's because before Brett Ratner came on board, the bridge battle was meant to be in the middle of the movie and the climax was meant to be the mutant army marching on Washington. Ratner's response was "Oh but Magneto moving the bridge is the most spectactular special effect in the whole film; that has to be the climax! He essentially cut out the second half of the film and padded what was left to make it a 104 minute movie.

Wait, seriously? That explains a lot.

Mac Sirloin 10-17-2009 09:17 PM

I remember seeing a special for X-men 3 on the Space Channel, once. They showcased the entire 'magneto moving the bridge' scene and I was like 'WOW! If that's all they show in the trailers I can just imagine what they're saving for the movie!'
Yes, I was very naive.

The hilarious thing was how proud he was of that decision in the interview I read.

Strike Witch 10-18-2009 12:31 AM

It just didn't flow, a good movie is supposed to steadily rise in awesomeness, but going straight to that then just petering out into "I love you but I must kill you" was ugh.

I still liked the Juggernaut.

Josh 10-18-2009 02:37 AM

Storm will always be the best of the X-Men. So, did they actually film the part that would have saved the film? Or is it just a nice idea?

MeechMunchie 10-18-2009 03:08 AM

Pffft. Nightcrawler would kick Storm's lightning-burned arse. (Another Anglo-American spelling thing - 'Kiss my ass' or 'Kick your ass' looks better than 'Kiss my arse' or 'Kick your arse', but 'Can't be arsed' looks better than 'Can't be assed'. Probably 'cause the latter's a mainly British saying) I always thought Wolverine's 'Nooo' at the end was stupid, since when you go 'No' at someone's death, your'e implying that you can't belive it happened. But Wolverine just killed her with his own claws.

Wings of Fire 10-18-2009 02:06 PM

I saw the original Bill and Ted last night all the way through for the first time ever, it was fucking awesome and just what I needed to untense me after weeks of coursework and suchlike. Also...
Why is that so magical? It's gotta be one of the best scenes I've ever seen in a movie. It adds nothing to the plot or the characters but for no apparent reason it still affected me somehow D:.

Mac Sirloin 10-18-2009 04:07 PM

It's the music. that scene is stupid otherwise.

Nate 10-18-2009 04:41 PM

Was that Tom Baker in the phone box?

Josh 10-19-2009 06:49 AM

The Last King of Scotland. A good film. The part with the corpse was just sick.

Josh 10-19-2009 10:01 AM

Yup. I have a new favorite film. Next to 'Goldmember'.
