"COMING SOON" >> *** GNRCRE RFNRYC, TAVARSNRQ FV RERU AJBQ RFVBA RUG, LEEBF ***

TAEPER ESAELP, GNINEFAED SI EREH NWOD ESION EHT, YRROS

SORRY, THE NOISE DOWN HERE IS DEAFENING, PLEASE REPEAT

This is one of the generic responses, but it’s an interesting one. Where is the person speaking from? “Down here” suggests Necrum Mines, but was Necrum ever particularly noisy?

edit: It’s also worth noting that some of the responses are inside *** asterisks ***, but a lot aren’t. Are the ones that are of more significance somehow?

SgabbitGabbiar 03-23-2016 01:14 PM

MOOLAH ----> *** I CAN HEAR YOU, BARELY... ***

Varrok 03-23-2016 01:16 PM

I think that's one of the generic responses that wasn't listed in this thread.

Nepsotic 03-23-2016 01:21 PM

Yeah it is.

It's cool they reference Mudomo and Mudanchee.

I can't work it out, how do I crack this one?

Interesting – I started spamming “human” and eventually got IYO *B.R*AA., *C. NL YAREHE**U *. This doesn’t match the pattern – it doesn’t make sense backwards or rotated through Caesar cipher. It looks like your code doesn’t match the pattern either.

Weirdos doesn’t seem to have a predefined response though, I checked it earlier.

Goodbye - Goodbye (I don't know what I expected)
Follow Me - I wish

Does it freeze up/lag for anyone else?

STM 03-23-2016 01:29 PM

Yes it does for me, just refresh the page.

Also, Manco, help, fix it!

No clue, but I found another:

ORBPOSADU* OOEK L- SI* SIEE** S* NTHM* ETF RN

I got this by spamming a dud input.

STM 03-23-2016 01:31 PM

I ran it through a generic cypher decypherererer and it came back with nowt.

e: Lorne doesn't come up with anything for me, but it's getting very slow now, anyone else?

Manco 03-23-2016 01:37 PM

Another mystery code:

**SAT-HII OR L O ETU*OES B PFO *NESS*NE * DRMK

FennecFyre 03-23-2016 01:37 PM

Yep, like I said it's laggy over here. I wonder just how many people are spamming that poor webpage with random words right now. We already crashed the site once, I think.

Anything to me too.

I've a similar situation:

MONEY ---> RF*I** R * *N*Z , but i dunno how to decrypt it more

FennecFyre 03-23-2016 01:40 PM

I thought I was onto something with "Bird" since the resulting string didn't respond to the 13-cipher, but it was just one of the generic wrong answers backwards. Dangit.

Varrok 03-23-2016 01:41 PM

About the new kind of messages:

Notice all of them have 6 stars in each one. Just like this one:
:

*** HELLO? ***
I think someone messed up the order of the characters

Nepsotic 03-23-2016 01:42 PM

WHAT IS SOULSTORM > FBHYFGBEZ? (SOULSTORM?)

Tried it with the 13-cipher, got ES*V** E * *A*M which can be rearranged into SAVE ME, but I could be doing the wrong cipher.

E: I wonder if there are any other anagram answers...

That’s a really good observation. We need to start shuffling the letters for those codes.

Varrok 03-23-2016 01:46 PM

I fear it might be just generic responses with mixed order, looking at FennecFyre's post

Another mystery code:

**SAT-HII OR L O ETU*OES B PFO *NESS*NE * DRMK

**DUE-ALL OH I O REC*ORD X TWO *MRDD*MR * PHYS

Also I got: SS* N- *FB SRHOKEOETR* N*TIL*UPMEOA S O *DEI

to go to:
LL* Y-*UPLE FOR TO THE*Y* HAV*ING TO CLO*ST A

Varrok 03-23-2016 01:48 PM

This totally looks like scrambled words

It’s possible, but we need to confirm. If it is, then it’s possible that future codes will use this cipher.

FennecFyre 03-23-2016 01:49 PM

I've been trying strings in an anagram solver, but so far nothing, though they might just be too long or using made-up Oddworld-specific words.

Varrok 03-23-2016 01:50 PM

Anagram solvers are usually for single words, not whole sentences, right? Also, it uses Oddworld-specific words that solvers don't know

FennecFyre 03-23-2016 01:51 PM

That would prooobably explain it...

STM 03-23-2016 01:53 PM

Okay so

:

Also I got: SS* N- *FB SRHOKEOETR* N*TIL*UPMEOA S O *DEI
I got that to this:

LL* Y-*UPLE FOR TO THE*Y* HAV*ING TO CLO*ST A

Removed the stars and the hash and got:

"LL YUPLE FOR TO THEY HAVING TO CLOST A"

So... All Yuple(?) for to they having to clost...

so a jumbled load of words as Varrok said?

Looking at all of these posts together – these codes might very well keep the individual words together and shuffle the letters within them.

Look at this:
:

()
LL* Y-*UPLE FOR TO THE*Y* HAV*ING TO CLO*ST A

Some of those definitely look like complete words. If that’s the case, then the anagrams can be solved by working on individual words at a time.

STM 03-23-2016 01:56 PM

This is exciting! I feel like I'm helping.

Varrok 03-23-2016 01:57 PM

The dash might play a part here.

STM 03-23-2016 02:02 PM

Actually Varrok you might be right. I ran it through with the dash and it change completely:

SS N- FB SRHOKEOETR N TIL UPMEOA S O DEI
