Getting on with people here needs a little compliance on your side. For example posting quotes at the bottom of posts isn't the done thing around here and confuses others - People explained that to you and instead of taking a step back and listening to them, you got all pissed and defensive and stuff and they mocked you for it.

Yeah, that's mean of them, and I'm not saying you deserved it, but when you act in a way that aggravates others then you reap what you sow, really.

Nomadpaec 03-04-2012 11:40 PM

Thats complete Bs, people didn't explain it they acted like Dick heads, if they would of said would you please post quotes below I could comprehend.

But come on I see what this is just sticking up for your friends on a forum thats normal.

Have you read the other comments? Yeah? Still think I'm wrong for acting that way? Then I can do nothing but leave that's complete Bs.

moxco 03-04-2012 11:45 PM

You know , I'm really, really sorry. When I re-read this thread I felt great shame; I thought I was simply giving constructive criticism to help improve the continuity of your posts, so that in the future I would not be initially confused by their content. Though now I realise, with great regret what pricks we have indeed been. Simple constructive criticism I thought it, yet in hindsight verbal holocaust would, perhaps, be a more appropriate term. Oh how, my advice must have burnt your soul like firebombs. If you were too accept my most sincere apologies I shall be eternally in your debt.

Phylum 03-04-2012 11:46 PM

What?

First post telling you about quotes:
:

()
Posts go below quotes, like so.

Your provocative response:
:

()
No, Quotes go over here like so.

WoF tells you again after you continue to ignore him:
:

()
QUOTES. GO. AT. START. OF. POST.

Moxco explains things a bit better, albeit in an aggressive way:
:

()
Isn't it fucking obvious? When you put the quote at the beginning of your post we know what you are making reference to. Putting the quote at the end hinders its continuity. I'd much rather not have to read your posts more than once to make sense of them.

So what was your problem?

EDIT: Moxco's a speedy shit.

Ok, so you were the first one to really be aggressive about this and now you come along with that crap?

DarkHoodness 03-04-2012 11:46 PM

Well, I tried. EDIT: We all tried.

Can anyone else say lost cause? And that's a shame, really.

sheridanm962 03-04-2012 11:48 PM

 I gave him a simple email with just one picture of Spiderman and the caption was: You must be Muham-mad.

I don't know if anyone else sent an email...

enchilado 03-04-2012 11:50 PM

dear god no wonder he hates us

Nomadpaec 03-04-2012 11:51 PM

Ever thought that was the problem being too aggressive? A lot of you people acted like dicks. I made that post as a joke. But like I said it's just a post people shouldn't complain about it just read it.

I'm sorry but I clearly stated in my introduction that I was an asshole.

But all of you acted like complete hypocrites afterwards.

Phylum 03-04-2012 11:51 PM

But why would you do that? That's just you being an annoying prick. It's neither funny nor helpful.

EDIT: I think this is the most I've ever been sniped.

Nomadpaec, the only one really being aggressive was Moxco. We usually just ignore him when he posts like that. I suggest that you stop posting in this thread and give us a shot. We can be quite likeable, really.

sheridanm962 03-04-2012 11:54 PM

Don't tell me off, I have needs too you know. :tard:

DarkHoodness 03-04-2012 11:57 PM

@Nomadpaec - Along with what Phylum said, also don't take sheridanm962 seriously either.

I put one fuck in my post and now I'm the antichrist. And don't say Oh, but he's new because he was already told twice and was being a smartarse about it. Annoying enough to warrant at least a single swear word.

Then he came back and made it sound as if I had shot him in the face.

Nomadpaec 03-04-2012 11:59 PM

It's really hard for me to understand whos being a smart ass and who isnt on sites like these.

I do apologies to anyone that was trying to side with me and thought I was targeting them.

DarkHoodness 03-05-2012 12:01 AM

If you still want to join us it may help you to sit back for a bit, lurk, and watch how people act to find out how things work around here.

sheridanm962 03-05-2012 12:03 AM

I actually like this guy, that email I sent was a mere joke that no one gets...

No one gets my humour, even if they tried (hurr durr it's unfunny). :nonono:

moxco 03-05-2012 12:03 AM

Yeah you'll find that I'm really aggressive. I mean get this, occasionally I'll actually swear, I'm not joking, I'm seriously that aggressive.

Edit: Dammit sheridanm, stop posting so fast.

Nomadpaec 03-05-2012 12:08 AM

sheridanm962 I just registered here how am I suppose to know how anyone is?

And personally now that I am part of this forum I feel as if it should let me be me and do how I want to I'm sure everyone feels the same here as long I stay within the rules, but that was to the one who said thats arent how things are done here. It's like having a baby, it's part of your family now so you just gotta learn to tolerate it until it's grown.

Just because you've been here for 5+ years and or has thousands of posts mean nothing to me your just another user until we get to know each other better.

Well I would like you guys to be a bit considerate of the fact that most newbs don't really know the ropes yet :)

Yes, but that's why people give constructive criticism, to teach newbs the ropes. If said newbs choose to ignore those suggestions, then they've only got themselves to blame.

:

()
How am I the one taking everything seriously when people were complaining about the way I posted?

This is a real forum with a real sense of community, not 4chan. We're trying to have discussions - some serious, some lighthearted - which means it's important to express yourself clearly. It's really quite difficult for us to accept someone who chooses to post confusingly.

If you want to be a part of a community (whether on the internet or in real life), you must learn to live within its defined cultural boundaries before trying to change them.

:

()
I'm sorry but I clearly stated in my introduction that I was an asshole.

Warning us that you're an arsehole doesn't make it okay.

Nomadpaec 03-05-2012 01:08 AM

Wait what was I trying to change?

Having a right to post the way I want to? That's bad?

sheridanm962 03-05-2012 01:11 AM

not 4chan.

I know that was directed towards me. :chairhit:

Fucking Aussies have no sense of balance in what they say and never EVER consider one's feelings, well most of them are like that.

I'm from New Zealand we don't think alike, just be clear about that.

and a cat is fine too.

Wait what was I trying to change?

Having a right to post the way I want to? That's bad?

Like I said, it's about expressing yourself clearly. Texts in the English language generally follow in a logical progression from one thought to the next. Therefore, it makes sense to start a post with what you're referring/responding to (i.e. the quoted post) and then follow it with your own input. Putting the quote at the end is incredibly confusing.

Now, you may say that it is a perfectly acceptible approach. You might even try to convince us that it's a better way of posting. But first you need to accept out way of doing things before trying to change them.

Nomadpaec 03-05-2012 01:14 AM

I'm not trying to change anything, it's you guy's that are trying to change the way I post now isn't it?

moxco 03-05-2012 01:15 AM

I can feel Nate's frustration building up

Nate 03-05-2012 01:21 AM

I'm not trying to change anything, it's you guy's that are trying to change the way I post now isn't it?

Because we see that you have potential to be a good member and are trying to teach you how to fit in and express yourself clearly!

Jeez...

How racist.

Nomadpaec 03-05-2012 01:32 AM

Nate I'd really much rather take this to Inboxes just to keep other opinions out of it.

What ever I say you'll come back with something else and it'll just cause unneeded attention. Since I am new I feel as if members here will just side with you because your an Admin.

DarkHoodness 03-05-2012 01:34 AM

Admins and mods don't really get sucked-up to here. That's not how this forum works.

Nate 03-05-2012 01:35 AM

EDIT: Darkhoodess posted just before me.

You really don't know this place very well if you think people will agree with me by default.

In any case, I can sum up everyone's feelings about you in one sentence: We don't want you to go, but if you choose to stay you're going to have to treat other members with respect, and that includes posting in the way that they want you to post.

Nomadpaec 03-05-2012 01:36 AM

Respect is earned and if I have to change my ways just over posting quotes above what I say then I guess all I can do is leave.

But the issue now being is members sending me unwanted emails.

Like I said its sad that I have to change my email over this.

DarkHoodness 03-05-2012 01:45 AM

Making a mountain out of a molehill. Take care now.
