I think it's reasonable to assume that there are some very big cities of khanzumerz around Mudos somewhere.

Wil 12-07-2009 04:52 PM

Slig Barracks is actually underground.

Sekto Springs 12-07-2009 04:55 PM

Slig Barracks isn't floating. Dripik haphazardly constructed his own little "fort" out of industrial scrap. The only structures attached to solid ground are the concrete watchtowers.

As for the green light, I'm fairly certain that's just for atmospheric effect. If you want to get technical, it could be the wavelengths of color that the light puts out is screwy due to trapped gases. Or it could be that the lights are simply tinted green. A scouring of the Slig Barracks screenshots may confirm this.

hey, why not?

SB is also up the nearest mudokons anus and the ironic thing is, is that it isnt shitting shit, its shitting little shit sligs.

I always thought the pipes were just a sewage system whose earth had been weathered away from acid rain and development.

I always thought the pipes looked cool.

"They say it's the biggest meat-processing plant on Oddworld."

Huh, Abe says that. That's just what the little Mudokon workers say.

It's not important whether it's the biggest or not. It's important that it isn't the only meat-processing plant. Also, we can assume that even it it isn't the biggest, it's still very big given the economic effect shutting it down had on the Magog Cartel and the economy at large.

MA 12-07-2009 05:20 PM

Ench: what? the pipes in regard to the mudokon's anus?

enchilado 12-07-2009 05:32 PM

I meant the reason for the pipes is that they look cool, not because they carry sewerage around or whatever.

used:) 12-07-2009 05:33 PM

Of course, that's why they put them there. Sometimes it's just nice to imagine the rationale behind it, whether it' there or not.

enchilado 12-07-2009 05:41 PM

Okay... they're there because General Dripik thought it looked cool ;)

That seems pretty on par with Lorne's reasoning, actually.
Slig Barracks looks cool. Why? Because it does. Now shaddap.

STM 12-08-2009 09:58 AM

And with that post Sekto, I think the thread should be closed before any more spam occours...Slig barracks doesn't float and it does poop little anul poop sligs and one more thing.

Your all wrong, I'm always right and by reading or ignoring this you approve of that!

I sure wonder why the doors are trapazoidal.

Grieva 12-08-2009 10:25 AM

maybe based on the shape of doorways to the dug-outs in ww1 trenches?

AlexFili 12-08-2009 10:35 AM

There aren't likely to be thousands of "RuptureFarms" buildings at once... but there could be at least hundreds of meat processing factories.

Either 1029 is a zip code of some kind or... it could be the 1029th Rupture Farms (If all the animals in an area become extinct, they dismantle everything, move and start again with a new number at the end).

I think Slig Barracks is built on a swamp. Most of the levels seem to take place during the night as well. My point was that Slig Barracks cannot be the only place that Sligs can be trained (although it could have been the only place Flying Sligs come from... hence their absense in MO, while they build a new one).

I was just kidding, but that's not a bad guess.

Grieva 12-08-2009 12:20 PM

i didnt think sligs actually got any training there, i thought it was just a place dripik kept a load of sligs to make himself feel important

Crashpunk 12-08-2009 12:32 PM

No its defiantly used for training, you remember the screen with the wooden cutouts of Mudokons with bullet holes in them? obviously used to train sligs to shoot.

STM 12-08-2009 01:34 PM

there metla and I think its a bit of fun, remeber the yare only on another platform

enchilado 12-08-2009 02:45 PM

"Rifle Range". That's the Rifle Range. They should Mud cutouts with rifles.

The doors are trapezoidal because trapezoidal doors are awesome. And Flying Sligs aren't in MO because they'd be hard to work in 3D.

And why would they have to build a new Slig Barracks?

MeechMunchie 12-08-2009 03:02 PM

Doors are trapezioid because Sligs have little heads and wide delicate arses. A point for consideration in the 'RF1029' argument: In AE after RF was blown up, the door says 'Currently out of service' or something similar. Which is actually my favorite joke in the entire game, the Glukkons straining to look professional in the face of disaster.

Grieva 12-08-2009 04:12 PM

yeah its definately a rifle range, I mean they dont get any formal training or instructions, like Scrabtrapman said, the targets are just there for fun because the sligs enjoy shooting things

MA 12-08-2009 05:13 PM

i'd guess the sligs would have to teach themselves most things. i doubt sligs with 'higher authority' would be any more inclined to teach others, what with their mindset.

then again they'd probably love hitting others when they do something wrong, so i suppose that's a method of teaching.

this is all in my opinion, by the way. i have no clue.

STM 12-09-2009 08:18 AM

they have no proffesional training, says so in the first ten years book

used:) 12-09-2009 09:48 AM

Do they have hobbyist training then?

AlexFili 12-09-2009 10:33 AM

They probably listen to self-help tapes. I bet the Interns do.

Mod edit: And if you'd like to discuss Interns, feel free to in their dedicated thread.
