All three of those were some form of joke, I suggest you just ignore it. You'll recognise a hipster if you ever meet them. They'll be the one with your fist in their face.

you unhelpful cunts, stop blinding me with comedy.

Sekto Springs 05-04-2012 05:32 PM

Just avoid people that look like this and you'll be good.

Okay, keep on topic please people. I don't want to have to split this off to a Hipster thread as I suspect that it would, ironically, die from all of the attention.

I liked The Avengers, but I didn't love it. Aside from a handful of wisecracks, there just wasn't any Joss Whedonny magic.

Sekto Springs 05-04-2012 07:15 PM

Joss Whedon is a polarizing fella. I love half of what he does and hate the other half.

Same boat.

It felt like a comedy/action to me. I think the cross-universe humor was there to please the fanbase, but I found myself slightly grinning at the most, at most of the wisecracks.

Nate 05-04-2012 08:54 PM

There were a few of the jokes where I was surprised that the audience laughed, because I had seen the punchline coming from a mile away. Then I remembered that not everyone has seen Whedon's back catalogue.

OANST 05-05-2012 09:35 AM

I really liked Cabin in the Woods. That's the only think I've seen from Whedon that I thought was really good.

Mr. Bungle 05-05-2012 12:41 PM

I saw Avengers yesterday. I haven't left a theater feeling so satisfied by a film in years. Maybe I'm a Marvel fanboy, but I thought this movie was just amazing. Everything in it was just so... right.

Dynamithix 05-05-2012 12:50 PM

I watched Bumfights - Cause for concern with my dad. It's hard to give an opinion on something so horribly wrong. Sometimes I wonder why I and my dad watch shit like this together. Oh well.

Mr. Bungle 05-05-2012 12:53 PM

I also wanna mention that I saw the preview for Prometheus. That movie looks freaky, and awesome. Definitely gonna see it when it comes out.

Daxter King 05-05-2012 02:21 PM

Im seeing The Avengers tonight, but I don't plan on being sober to see it.

abe is now! 05-05-2012 02:24 PM

What about Toy Story?

Crashpunk 05-06-2012 03:07 AM

Last night, I watched Die Hard and The Negotiator.

I've already talked about Die Hard (at least I think I have). I personally think it's one of the greatest action film ever. The whole film is fantastic.

The Negotiator was also a great film. For those who haven't heard of it, it's about a police negotiator who is accused of murder and to prove his innocence and find out the truth, he takes hostages in a office. The story was a bit confusing but it makes sense if you follow it carefully. I recommend it if your fans of Action/Thrillers.

AlexFili 05-06-2012 03:34 AM

Time to recommend a few things: Avengers Assemble, Rock N Rolla, Robot Chicken (Particularly the Star Wars, Batman Shawshank and 300 parodies)

Dynamithix 05-06-2012 05:39 AM

Rock N Rolla was pretty shit.

Wings of Fire 05-06-2012 06:21 AM

Recommendations usually include a reason why.

A title is not a recommendation. It's a title.

AlexFili 05-06-2012 09:46 AM

Avengers Assemble - It's exciting, very funny and looks great
Robot Chicken - Funny as heck

MeechMunchie 05-06-2012 09:50 AM

What a convincing argument.

Sekto Springs 05-06-2012 10:03 AM

I really do not like Robot Chicken. There are a couple of good gags here and there, but I always find myself changing the channel when it comes on. I don't think Seth Green is a good writer or actor.

Wings of Fire 05-06-2012 10:27 AM

I haven't seen many Robot Chicken clips, but I don't think I like any that I've seen.

Then again I also don't like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Beavis and Butthead, Metalocalypse, South Park or anything like that.

So it's probably just me on this one.

MeechMunchie 05-06-2012 10:34 AM

I think you just don't like immature humour.

Sekto Springs 05-06-2012 10:36 AM

I actually like all of the other shows WoF mentioned, it's just Robot Chicken... it's just... bad. I dont know.

I think you just don't like immature humour.

I think that too, then I go watch an old episode of Two Stupid Dogs and giggle like crazy.

Sekto Springs 05-06-2012 10:44 AM

Maybe you only like stupid humor if the characters are also cute. That would certainly explain a few things about your tastes.

Man it was great. Every act felt like its own movie and everything was so awesome. Hulk was the best by far, holy shit when he ran through that building.

I will say I almost had an orgasm whenever the new Dark Knight Rises trailer came on.

This... seems right on the mark actually.

Daxter King 05-06-2012 11:11 AM

Man that was some good shit, I'm still feeling it a little.
