Weight lifting, can't get more manly than that.

I do about 100 reps a night lifting dumb-bells, and 60-100 sit ups. MANLY.

7kg vinyl's, thank you very much.

I tried to lift 12.5 kg but I fucked my arm up...

MeechMunchie 05-12-2012 06:46 AM

20 push-ups and 10 sit-ups a night, every night, before bed. I'm no Hercules but it's enough (since I also walk everywhere).

Dixanadu 05-12-2012 11:11 AM

Me and my friend Thomas did a rigorous workout in our friend Rachel's house. She's practically got one room decked out like a gym. Pretty neat.

It was fun but tiring, and the strain kicked in a day later. Must do it again some time.

So there's absolutely no sport in the world that you enjoy to a degree?

Does Laser Tag count as a sport?

Dixanadu 05-13-2012 04:35 AM

I believe it does. It's a 'safe' version of paintballing, which is a sport. Or extreme sport.

Also, snowboarding. I believe I'd fail spectacularly at it, though. It would still be fun to fly into walls of snow at ridiculous speeds.

Manchester City wins the FA Premier League :D the same day Alessandro Del Piero leaves Juventus FC...

Dixanadu 05-13-2012 10:38 AM

It was fucking great. Winning right at the end when all hope seemed lost.

It's been like 40 odd years since they won something. Fair play, because Manchester United always fucking win. Tight as hell in the end.

Del Piero retiring? He's getting a bit old, isn't he? Didier Drogba may be leaving Chelsea before the next season starts :(

I sad.

STM 05-13-2012 12:34 PM

Man Utd lost? D=

Well, I'm not a very good fan, I didn't even realise the game was on today.

Dixanadu 05-13-2012 12:42 PM

They won against Sunderland. They just didn't win the title.

Del Piero left Juventus FC today but he's going to play for another team next season, maybe in America or Arabia... I just don't know! He said he wants to keep playing and scoring. Also Inzaghi, Gattuso, Zambrotta, Nesta left A.C. Milan today (they all won the World Cup in 2006), and also Seedorf left Milan (four times UEFA Champions League's winner). What a day, today...

Nate 05-14-2012 06:19 AM

I just went to my first Aussie Rules footie match. I was guilt-tripped in to it by the fact that my good friend Cheese invited my newly emigrated boyfriend Marc to see his first match.

For those of y'all who aren't Facebook friends with me, this was my running commentary. The ones in quotation marks are actual things that I said out loud.

:

At my first ever game of football. Wearing a red t-shirt, bright green jumper and blue scarf. Just not trying hard enough.
(My team are the Blues. I was the only person out of the thirty-something thousand wearing bright green)

:

I have no idea what the hell is going on...
:

"I suppose it's interesting enough, but I just realised there's still more than 75% of this thing to go... "
:

"If you and I were doing that in the bedroom, I'd understand. On the football field, I'm a little bit surprised"
(that one was in response to a guy who looked like he was giving head to an opposing team's player)

:

Man behind me: "I started drinking green tea with vanilla. It smells like custard."

The conversation here is a bit more genteel than I expected.

:

He adds, looking over my shoulder, "Can you tag me in that?"
:

"You don't like genteel? So... I was fisting a nun..."

:

In the end, it was actually more interesting than I had expected. Still have NFI about the tackling rules though.

Just wondering, have you ever put any thought to Airsoft? If not I'd say you'd really enjoy it. It's a bit more painful but the aesthetic aspect of it just lulls you into really getting into the games.

STM 05-14-2012 11:45 AM

Until you come up against week-end warriors with 'grenade launchers' i.e. guns that fire plastic containers, upon impact with the ground, they spray everyone in the vicinity with hundreds of pellets. That just hurts. Oh, and being shot with a replica Barrett 50 calibre at point blank aged 14, that's not so fun either. XD

I didn't even know that was a thing until you mentioned it. And, no. Why the hell would I want to go around the bush shooting people painfully? And what do you mean by the aesthetic aspect?

My brother actually had one of those guns when I was a kid. He wasn't very... nice... about it.

I tried to lift 12.5 kg but I fucked my arm up...

the cattle feed bags at my old job weighed 25kg each, i used to carry one on my shoulder and another under my other arm. work your way up, don't take stupid leaps.

i don't usually suck my own cock but fuck you that job was fucking hard, i earned the goddamn right.

STM 05-16-2012 06:40 AM

Yeh I know, as soon as I felt something go I stopped for a few days, I'm a little bit upset though, because this time last year I was lifting 20 kg bags of cement powder and 15 kg window parts, albeit with a lot of trouble, but I still managed, so I do need to do something to get to the level I was at last year. =/

Your old job, if you don't mind enquiring, was this agricultural?

OddjobAbe 05-16-2012 07:35 AM

He used to take out my rubbish for me.

AlexFili 05-16-2012 11:37 AM

Congrats to Man City. They deserve a little limelight

yeah, it's the same on most farms. we used shit off construction sites too, like the cement you mentioned. the worst were the bags of dehydrated lime we used to spread on the cattle stalls to stop infection. that shit could burn and for some reason the bags were made from fucking paper, and still at 25kg each. it was too easy accidentally ripping one open and having it pour down your back.

I don't want to use the term 'LARP' about this but the look of the get-up makes it feel a lot more real than it should. I think the pain of it makes it a lot more interesting than paintball and LT. The adrenaline rush is brilliant as well.

And your brother used to shoot you, with a gas powered gun, when you were a kid? Is he... right?

Spring-powered, actually. If you mean is he intellectually and physically healthy? Yes, he is. Was/is he psychologically healthy? ... maybe not.

He is. He really turned the club around even though he's not full manager yet. I wish he was in charge at the start of the season instead of Villas-Boas, maybe they'd have finished higher in the league. Even winning FA Cup and Champions League, he's still under consideration for the job. I hope he gets it, we need someone like him.

Also Drogba just announced he is leaving Chelsea :( Considering how well he did on Saturday, his will be big shoes to fill.

Is there a problem, officer?

Ridg3 05-25-2012 07:07 AM

I started fishing the other day now that the weather is starting to be good. I really like it. I had a line set up with three hooks stuck with 3 very tasty looking ragworms and a spinner line. Caught a crab on the baited rod which was an awesome result compared to the amount of weedfishes I caught.

It was nice. My grandfather was meant to take me out fishing, even had a rod for me, but then he passed away and I had no-one then to take me out fishing. Until yesterday that is. My girlfriends brother offered me out and I went. A few smokes, drinks, good company and weather made it an enjoyable day.
