ODST came out. It's really not that bad...
Better than Halo 3 anyway. |

Nah, the original is king. Especially Custom Edition, it's fun to mess around on your own.
...I'm so lonely. |
Yeah, ODST is basically Halo 1 only shorter, more open, and only in one place.
At least Halo 1 was fresh and fun for me when it came out. |

I recently played the first Halo for the first time, it was good, but I enjoyed ODST a lot more.
|
For the first time? Probably because ODST is more on par of today's graphics and physics, but at the time, the first game was amazing.
|
Seriously, If only the later games could recapture that sense of unknown and adventure that Halo 1 had. You didnt know what was over that bridge. You didn't know how deep the building's tunnels went. It was wonderful.
|
That's like trying to repeat an experiment in cognitive insight in the same individual: it can't be done by definition and necessity.

Brb replaying Halo 1

Once you've discovered something, you can't go back and discover it all over again. Halo: CE wouldn't have nearly the same impact if none of the questions it raises were not answered by the end of it, which means that by the time the continuation of the story comes around, you are infinitely more familiar with the mythos and unique environments than you were as a Halo virgin. The fiction is set, the tone is set, even discovering new and exciting elements can never be more than building the first floor of the house on the foundations you built previously. And having built those foundations, you have a pretty good idea of what kind of house you'll be building later.

Halo 1 was really repetitive, more so than the other games in the series. One level was pretty much the same room and hallway repeated for about an hour or so.
|
Three of the levels were literal repeats.
Pillar of Autumn: The Maw Truth and Reconciliation: Keys Assault on the Control Room: Two Betrayals |
Halo 1 isn't Halo: CE, since Custom Edition is offically abbreviated as Halo: CE. The original Halo is just...Halo.
...what were we talking about? |
The CE doesn't mean Custom Edition. The name of the game is Halo: Combat Evolved.
|
Which is where the confusion stems from, but Custom Edition is considered "CE".
|
Err, errr, err hmm oh err oh dear. I think I keeled ova!
|
As long as they show the Sangheili in a good light, I don't care how drively it is. Just give me some Arbiter love! I love Halo 2 so far btw.

Halo Custom Eiditon is abbreviated as Halo: CE
Halo 1 is just labeled as Halo: Combat Evolved. |
:
|
I just call it Halo PC.
|
Should've called Custom Edition, 'Developer Edition' or some related crap.
|
Well, the first one came out.
No J-pop, no Kyuuu-ing, nothing at all wrong with it. Except that the Forerunners are Buddhist or something. |
Aside from what Ghost mentioned about the Forerunners and O'Brian being a bitch most of it, I enjoyed it.
|
Apart from the Buddhas and the samurai-like clothes for the Elites I have to admit everything fitted pretty well. (and even those elements could be justified in a way or another)
So nothing to say about the consistency, 343 did a good job. On the other hand the story was totally pointless. |

Yes. There will be a new one.
